The present invention is directed to packaging laminates for containing a food or pharmaceutical/medical product which includes an exterior film, a multilayer interior film comprising a product-contact layer, a diisocyanate-scavenging layer and an exterior film-contact layer, and a polyurethane adhesive layer bonding the exterior film to the multilayer interior film. The present invention reduces the amount of any unreacted diisocyanate precursor and primary amines which can migrate to a product in packaging assemblies formed with a polyurethane adhesive. This is achieved when an interior film (commonly known as a sealant film) includes a layer comprising a polyether polyol which is not in direct contact with the polyurethane adhesive. With this approach, the polyether polyol reacts with any residua! diisocyanate and/or primary amines which migrates from the polyurethane adhesive through the laminated assembly and thus, neutralizes any potential undesirable effects of these compounds.

Epoxy adhesives include a latent curing agent, a reactive toughener having capped isocyanate groups, and certain urea compounds. The toughener is made by chain extending and capping a mixture of isocyanate-terminated prepolymers. The prepolymers include an isocyanate-terminated polyether and an isocyanate-terminated diene polymer. The adhesives have excellent wash-off resistance and excellent ability to adhere to oily substrates.

Method for the preparation of high molecular weight oligo(alkylene glycol) functionalized polyisocyanopeptides

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of oligo(alkylene glycol)-functionalized polyisocyanopeptides comprising the steps of functionalizing an isocyanopeptide with oligo-(alkylene glycol) side chains and subsequently polymerizing the oligo-alkylene glycol-functionalized isocyanopeptides. Several isocyanopeptides may be functionalized with various linear or non-linear oligo-(alkylene glycol) side chains having variable chain length. The alkylene glycol may be selected from the group consisting of ethylene-, propylene-, butylene- or pentylene glycol. Preferably, the isocyanopeptides are functionalized with at least three ethylene glycol side chains. The peptides may comprise L-amino acids, D-amino acids or D, L-amino acids. The obtained oligoalkylene-functionalized polyisocyanopeptides are a new class of materials with unique thermo-responsive properties.

The present invention provides a moisture-curing sealant comprising a) at least one silane-functional polymer and b) at least one catalyst for the crosslinking of the silane-functional polymer, said sealant being free of organotin compounds and having, in the cured state, a secant modulus at 100% elongation and 23 C., determined to ISO 8339, of less than 0.4 MPa and a resilience at 100% elongation, determined to ISO 7389, of greater than 70%. The sealant is especially suitable as a construction sealant of the 25LM class according to DIN EN ISO 11600, especially as a facade sealant, or as a sealant according to ASTM C719 Class 50.
