Compositions comprising thermoplastic vulcanizate, foamed material and articles made therefrom

The present disclosure relates to a composition comprising a thermoplastic vulcanizate, a propylene-based elastomer and a foaming agent, and to a foamed material comprising said composition. The foamed material has increased tensile properties and tension set while attaining comparable effects of reduction of weight.

METHODS OF PRODUCING POLYOLEFIN FOAM SHEETS AND ARTICLES MADE THEREOF

A method of manufacturing a polyolefin foam sheet composition includes extruding a polyolefin sheet, irradiating the extruded sheet to obtain a physically crosslinked sheet, foaming the physically crosslinked sheet with heat to obtain a foamed layer, and skiving the foamed layer to obtain a foam sheet with at least one skived surface. The surface roughness of the skived surface of the foam sheet is different from the surface roughness of an unskived surface.

Polymeric Membrane Useful As A Commercial Roofing Membrane

The present disclosure provides a polymeric membrane. The polymeric membrane includes a first thermoplastic elastomer layer. The thermoplastic elastomer layer includes a filler component that is at least about 30 wt % of the thermoplastic elastomer layer. The polymeric membrane can further include an optional second thermoplastic elastomer layer in contact with the first polyolefin layer.

Process for Foaming Polyolefin Compositions Using a Fluororesin/Azodicarbonamide Mixture as a Nucleating Agent
20170275431 · 2017-09-28 ·

The process of foaming a polyolefin, e.g., polyethylene, composition using as a nucleator a combination an azodicarbonamide (ADCA) and a fluororesin at a ADCA: fluororesin weight ratio of 60:40 to 20:80. The synergic effect between these two nucleating agents results in a higher nuclei density and a foamed product with a smaller cell size as compared to processes using and products produced by the use of neat PTFE or neat ADCA alone as the nucleating agent.

POLYESTER PREPOLYMERS AS IMPACT MODIFIERS IN EPOXY FORMULATIONS
20170240687 · 2017-08-24 · ·

What is described is a polymer which is a polyurethane polymer having blocked isocyanate groups or a reaction product of said polyurethane polymer with at least one epoxy resin, where the polyurethane polymer having blocked isocyanate groups is an addition product formed from at least one polyisocyanate and at least one polyester polyol, wherein the isocyanate groups of the addition product have been blocked by reaction with at least one aromatic compound having at least one hydroxyl group. Such a polymer is suitable as an impact modifier in epoxy resin compositions, especially when they are used as adhesives or structural foams. The polymer improves the corrosion resistance and vertical expansion of the epoxy resin composition.

BIO-BASED ELASTOMERIC EVA COMPOSITIONS AND ARTICLES AND METHODS THEREOF

A polymer composition may include an elastomeric ethylene-vinyl acetate, in which at least a portion of ethylene from the elastomeric ethylene-vinyl acetate is obtained from a renewable source of carbon. A curable polymer composition, an expandable polymer composition, articles, cured articles, and expanded articles may include or be formed from such polymer composition. A process for producing a polymer composition may include polymerizing ethylene at least partially obtained from a renewable source of carbon with vinyl acetate to produce an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer; and mixing the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer with an elastomeric polyolefin to produce an elastomeric ethylene-vinyl acetate.
