Coolant device, dispenser and methods
09766007 · 2017-09-19 ·

This invention provides a thin and discreet coolant device, and single and multiple unit dispenser containers containing the same. The coolant device comprises a first packet being comprised of a waterproof or water-resistant material containing water therewithin and further comprising a fold and further adapted to have a selectively permanent connection between external and internal layers of said fold, such that upon applying a force to laterally extend the ends of said packet, a rupture of said first packet occurs allowing for the leakage of the water contained therewithin. The coolant device further comprises a second packet which encases said first packet, comprising an exterior and interior layer, wherein said interior layer is comprised of an absorbant material and said exterior layer is comprised of a waterproof or water-resistant material and wherein an amount of powdered urea is located within an interior of said second packet. Upon lateral extension of the sides of the second packet, a rupture of said first packet occurs allowing for the leakage of the water contained therewithin and its exposure to said urea located within said second packet, which exposure results in an endothermic reaction resulting in an outer surface of said second packet becoming cooler to the touch than an outer surface temperature prior to said rupture. Use of the coolant devices to provide cooling to a skin surface on demand is described, as well.

Targeted Temperature Management Systems, Pads, and Methods Thereof for Treating Burn Wounds
20220233344 · 2022-07-28 ·

Disclosed herein are targeted temperature management (“TTM”) systems, pads, and methods thereof for treating burn wounds. A method of a system for TTM can include a pad-connecting step, a pad-placing step, and a fluid-circulating step. The pad-connecting step can include connecting an inlet and an outlet of a pad to a hydraulic system of a control module. The pad can include a multilayered pad body having a conduit layer configured to convey a temperature-controlled fluid provided by the control module. The pad-placing step can include placing the pad on a wounded portion of a patient's body with a sterile, thermally conductive wound-healing layer of the pad body in contact with a burn wound of the wounded portion of the patient's body. The fluid-circulating step can include circulating the temperature-controlled fluid through the conduit layer to cool the wounded portion of the patient's body, thereby treating the wound to promote healing.

DERMATOLOGICAL TREATMENTS AND SYSTEMS EMPLOYING COOLING, TOPICALS, AND/OR ABRASION

Dermatological treatments and systems employing cooling, topicals, and/or abrasion are disclosed herein. The system can include a cold plate and a suspension assembly tip. The suspension assembly tip can be selectively coupleable to the cold plate. The suspension assembly tip can include a suspension tip and a suspension. The suspension tip can include a contact surface that can be contacted onto a patient's skin to provide a treatment. The suspension can couple to both the cold plate and to the suspension tip. The suspension can be thermally conductive so as to closely thermally couple the suspension tip to the cold plate, or the suspension tip can have a low thermal conductivity so as to not closely thermally coupled the suspension tip to the cold plate.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING SLURRY

Methods and systems for generating sterile slurry are provided. The slurry may be injected into subcutaneous fat of a subject to facilitate weight reduction or improve cosmetic appearances. Systems for generating a slurry comprise a repository for receiving a solution, a generator for generating the slurry from the solution, and a port for transferring the slurry from the system. Methods for generating a slurry comprise receiving a solution in a slurry generator, and generating slurry from the solution, wherein the slurry comprises ice particles capable of flowing through a cannula. Systems include continuous flow systems, agitated systems, and hybrid continuous flow and agitation systems.

Method and apparatus for cryogenic treatment of skin tissue

Cosmetic method and apparatus are provided that can provide cooling and/or freezing of skin tissue proximal to the skin surface to generate an appearance of lightening or reduced pigmentation in the skin. The skin can be cooled to a temperature of less than about −5 degrees Celsius for a duration of about one minute or less, using a plurality of cooled contact surfaces, each having a width between about 2 mm and about 20 mm. A cooling arrangement can be provided to provide controlled heat removal from the skin tissue being treated. A sensor can optionally be provided to detect freezing of tissue proximal to the cooled surfaces.

TRANSPARENT HEAD FOR A SKIN TREATMENT DEVICE

A transparent cover member for a skin treatment device passes light and heat to a user's skin. The transparent cover member presents a comfortable flat surface at its exterior, and includes features that couple to a heating element that surrounds a plurality of visible light LEDs. The transparent cover member can include retaining features to assist in assembling the head assembly of the skin treatment device.

ESTHETIC APPARATUS USEFUL FOR INCREASING SKIN REJUVENATION AND METHODS THEREOF

A system is provided for increasing skin rejuvenation of a region of a patient's skin comprising a pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) frequency generator for constantly providing electromagnetic pulses to said region of a patient's skin and a deep tissue diathermy device for constantly applying heat to said region of a patient's skin up to temperature T. The system is adapted for simultaneously applying heat and PEMF to the region of a patient's skin. Application of the system increases skin rejuvenation such that the skin rejuvenation increase (SRI) is greater than the sum of the SRI provided by electromagnetic pulses increase and the SRI provided by the deep tissue diathermy device increase.
