Cerium oxide particles having a modified surface, their manufacture and their uses in polymeric compositions and articles.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING ORGANIC POLYMERIC MATERIALS FROM DISCOLORATION DUE TO EXPOSURE TO UV-C LIGHT
Polymer compositions for making a stabilized polymeric articles that are resistant to discoloration upon exposure to UV-C light having: (i) an organic polymeric material; and (ii) a hindered phenol, organic phosphite, or a combination thereof, with the provisos that: (a) the OH group on the aromatic ring of the hindered phenol is flanked by two tertiary hydrocarbyl groups, and (b) the organic phosphite does not have any-OAr group linked directly to the P atom of the phosphite, wherein Ar represents an unsubstituted or substituted aryl group, are provided herein. Reduced discoloration is associated with the use of specific hindered phenols and the organic phosphites compared to other hindered phenols and organic phosphites, even in the absence of other polymer additives including UV absorbers, hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), metal oxides and/or barium salts. Methods of reducing discoloration of an organic polymeric material upon exposure to UV-C light are also provided, wherein such methods include the step of adding to the organic polymeric material a stabilizing amount of hindered phenol, organic phosphite, or a combination thereof.
Resin particle composition
A resin particle composition includes resin particles, polishing agent particles having an average circle-equivalent diameter of 0.1 m to 3.0 m, and silica particles having a compression aggregation degree of 60% to 95% and a particle compression ratio of 0.20 to 0.40.
NANOMATERIAL-BIOMASS FIBER COMPOSITE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
A nanomaterial-biomass fiber composite and preparation method thereof. The biomass fibers are cut or sliced, and then dried. The dried biomass fibers are mixed with a nanomaterial and conveyed to the preheating cylinder of a defibrator for cooking treatment. The cooked mixture is pushed between the grinding discs of the defibrator for hot grinding treatment. The resulting material is then hot pressed to obtain the nanomaterial-biomass fiber composite material. The preparation method benefits from simple operation, low cost, low energy consumption, suitability for industrialized production, and wide application prospect in the field of production of binderless fiberboard.

The resin composition contains: an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer; inorganic particles; and an aliphatic carbonyl compound having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, in which the content of the inorganic particles is 50 ppm or greater and 5,000 ppm or less, the aliphatic carbonyl compound is at least one selected from the group consisting of a saturated aldehyde, an unsaturated aldehyde and a saturated ketone, and the content of the aliphatic carbonyl compound is 0.01 ppm or greater and 100 ppm or less. The inorganic particles preferably contain a metal element which is at least one selected from the group consisting of silicon, aluminum, magnesium, zirconium, cerium, tungsten and molybdenum.
BIODEGRADABLE PLASTIC BALL
The invention relates to a ball, comprising a biodegradable polymer and one or more additives, such as an electrostatic charge eliminating additive, a density increasing additive, a strength/hardness modifier and/or the like added to the polymer mass during the compounding step. The ball is manufactured by a process generally applicable to the manufacture of polymers, such as injection molding, into a substantially spherical shape and grinding and/or polishing it to its final shape by means of double-sided lapping, barrel tumbling and/or the like. The biodegradable polymer used in the ball is polybutylene succinate (PBS).
Electroconductive film laminate comprising transparent pressure-sensitive adhesive layer
As one sensor layer structure for a capacitive touch panel, a layer structure in which a transparent electroconductive layer is formed on each of opposite surfaces of a single film substrate, so-called GFD structure, is used. In the structure, for sufficiently suppressing internal reflection from the transparent electroconductive layer, it is necessary to employ a technique of forming one or more refractive index adjustment (IM) layers on each of the opposite surfaces of the single film substrate. This causes a problem that production yield is likely to deteriorate, and a production cost is increased. The present invention is directed to solving such a problem and, specifically, to laminating a refractive index adjustment zone-formed pressure-sensitive adhesive layer capable of being produced easily and at low cost, to each transparent electroconductive layer of a double-sided transparent electroconductive film, so as to effectively suppress internal reflection in the resulting laminate.
