POLYLACTIC ACID COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF PREPARING THE SAME
The present disclosure provides a polylactic acid composition and a method of preparing the same. The polylactic acid composition comprises a polymeric material and a reaction product obtained by reacting a compound represented by formula (A) with a compound represented by formula (B), the polymeric material comprising polylactic acid, the compound represented by formula (A) being a trimeric phosphazene-based substance, and the compound represented by formula (B) being diamine. The polylactic acid composition is favorable in both flame retardancy and toughness.

There is set forth herein a silicon-based patch formulation comprising about 25 to 66 percent by volume of a solvent; about 4 to 10 percent by volume of a silicon-comprising binding material; and about 30 to 65 percent by volume of a patching material, the patching material comprising particles having one or more non-actinide Group IIIA elements, wherein a molar ratio of the one or more non-actinide Group IIIA elements to silicon within the patch formulation is about 0.95 to 1.25.

To provide a liquid composition capable of forming a polymer electrolyte membrane which is excellent in the initial power generation characteristics when made into a membrane electrode assembly, and which is excellent in durability and has few defects. This liquid composition comprises a liquid medium, a sulfonic acid group-containing fluorocarbon polymer and a hardly soluble cerium compound, wherein the ion exchange capacity of the sulfonic acid group-containing fluorocarbon polymer is from 1.36 to 2.50 meq/g dry resin, the average particle size of the hardly soluble cerium compound is from 1 nm to 3,000 nm, and the ratio of the total number of moles of cerium atoms in the hardly soluble cerium compound to the total number of moles of sulfonic acid groups in the sulfonic acid group-containing fluorocarbon polymer is from 0.001 to 0.3.
CURABLE SULFONATED POLYMER COMPOSITIONS
The disclosure relates to a polymer membrane comprising a curable composition that includes: (a) a sulfonated hydrogenated styrenic block copolymer (SSBC); (b) hydroxyl group containing compound; (c) at least one cross-linking agent comprising an epoxy-based compound; and (d) optionally, a radical scavenger. The SSBC consists of at least one block S and at least one block .sub.SS, each independently composed of vinyl aromatic units, and at least one block R, composed on hydrogenated diene units. The block .sub.SS has a degree of sulfonation of at least 10 mol %. The SSBC has an ion exchange capacity (IEC) of at least 0.5 meq/g. Upon curing, the polymer membrane demonstrates improved proton conductivity and durability.

Polymeric composition comprising a thermoplastic polyester and a rare earth compound selected from the group consisting of lanthanum hydroxide, cerium oxide hydrate and mixtures thereof, characterized in that the amount of the thermoplastic polyester in the polymeric composition is more than 50 wt. %, preferably more than 70 wt. %.

COMPOSITE INCLUDING FLUORINATED POLYMER AND LITHIUM FLUORIDE NANOPARTICLES AND ARTICLES INCLUDING THE SAME
Described herein is a composite comprising a fluorinated polymer and nanoparticles of lithium fluoride. The lithium fluoride has an average BET surface area of at least 10 m.sup.2/g. The fluorinated polymer includes a fluorinated polymer backbone chain and a plurality of groups represented by formula SO.sub.2X, in which each X is independently NZH, NZSO.sub.2(CF.sub.2).sub.1-6SO.sub.2X, NZ[SO.sub.2(CF.sub.2).sub.dSO.sub.2NZ].sub.1-10SO.sub.2(CF.sub.2).sub.dSO.sub.2X, or OZ, and Z is independently a hydrogen, an alkali-metal cation, or a quaternary ammonium cation, X is independently NZH or OZ, and each d is independently 1 to 6. A polymer electrolyte membrane, an electrode, and a membrane electrode assembly including the composite are also provided.
