SILICON-CONTAINING HALOGENATED ELASTOMERS
Described herein is curable composition comprising a halogenated amorphous polymer having at least 25% halogen by weight; at least 0.5 phr of an acid acceptor; at least 0.01 phr of silicon-containing compound; and a dehydrohalogenation cure system. Upon curing, a silicon-containing superficial layer forms, which can provide increased durability, non-tackiness, and a matte finish to the cured elastomer.

The present disclosure provides a low-smoke, non-halogenated flame retardant composition made from or containing (a) a first ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, having a total content of vinyl acetate-derived units in an amount from about 15 to about 45 weight percent, based upon the total weight of the ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer; (b) a coupling agent; (c) magnesium dihydroxide; (d) hydromagnesite; and (e) huntite.

Moisture-Curable Compositions Comprising Silane-Grafted Polyolefin Elastomer and Halogen-Free Retardant
Compositions useful as coatings for wire and cable comprise, in weight percent (wt %) based on the weight of the composition: (A) 10 to 62 wt % of a silane-grafted ethylene polymer (Si-g-PE) having a silane content of 0.5 to 5 wt % based on the weight of the Si-g-PE, wherein the Si-g-PE is made from an ethylene polymer (base resin) having the following properties. (1) Density of 0.875 to 0.910 g/cc; (2) Melt index (MI, 12) of 8 to 50 g/10 min (190 C./2.16 kg); and (B) 38 to 90 wt % of a halogen-free flame retardant (HFFR); (C) 0 to 0.3 wt % of an antioxidant; and (D) 0 to 1 wt % of a silanol condensation catalyst.
FIRE RESISTANT DATA COMMUNICATION CABLE
Data communication cables for transit applications are disclosed. The data communication cables are halogen-free and include a fire retardant tape. The cables pass the fire retardant standards of NFPA 130. Methods of making and using the cables are also disclosed.

Method for producing a multicoat coating comprises: applying a primer-surfacer coat (I) to an optionally pretreated substrate, curing coat (I), applying a basecoat (II) to coat (I), optionally curing the basecoat (II), applying a clearcoat (III) to basecoat (II), and curing basecoat (II) and/or clearcoat (III), wherein coat (I) is obtained by applying a nonaqueous, solventborne coating material comprising by weight: at least 20% of at least one organic solvent, at least 8% of at least one first polyester (A1), having a glass transition temperature of at least 20 C. and an acid number of 0 to 40 mg KOH/g; at least 8% by weight of at least one second polyester (A2), different from (A1) and having a glass transition temperature of not more than 10 C.; at least one crosslinker (B); and at least 8% of one or more fillers and/or pigments (C).
ANTI-BACTERIAL AND ANTI-DUST COATING FOR AIR DUCTING
The present invention relates to an anti-bacterial and anti-dust coating for air ducting. In one embodiment, the anti-bacterial and anti-dust coating comprises: a polymer emulsion; a cross linking agent; a film forming agent; a filler and anti-dust agent; an anti-bacterial agent; hardener nanoparticles; a defoamer; and water. The anti-bacterial agent can be in powder or in liquid form. The coating can be applied on the inner surface of metal air ducting to reduce dust aggregation and prevent growth of bacteria, mold and mildew that causes stains and odors inside air ducting. With the aids of nanotechnology, various specific nanoparticles are added in the waterborne polymer emulsion to provide the anti-bacterial, anti-dust, anti-acid, anti-alkali, good flexibility and hardness for the coating. The product is also tested to be flame retardant and water resistance for increased safety in air ducts.

The multi-layer insulated wire having an expansion start temperature of the outer layer that is equal to or lower than 344 C. is used.
