Negative pressure treatment system with heating and cooling provision

An apparatus and method for the controlled acceleration, and/or retardation of the body's inflammatory response comprises a foam pad for insertion into a wound site, a drape covering the foam pad, and a thermal control element configured to be placed proximate the wound site. The foam pad is placed in fluid communication with a vacuum source for promotion of the controlled acceleration or retardation of the body's inflammatory response. The thermal control element has a pair of flexible sheets for receiving a thermally conductive fluid.

HEAT EXCHANGE SYSTEM FOR PATIENT TEMPERATURE CONTROL WITH EASY LOADING HIGH PERFORMANCE PERISTALTIC PUMP
20220268269 · 2022-08-25 ·

A peristaltic pump has an arcuate raceway with a partially concave inner surface extending through an arc of at least one hundred eighty degrees (180°). The arc defines a midpoint, and a rotor faces the inner surface of the raceway and is both rotatable relative to the raceway and translationally movable relative to the raceway between a pump position, wherein the rotor is spaced from the midpoint a first distance, and a tube load position, wherein the rotor is spaced from the midpoint a second distance greater than the first distance. A rotor motor is coupled to the rotor to rotate the rotor and rollers arranged on the rotor to contact tubing disposed between the rotor and the raceway when the rotor is in the pump position. A loading motor moves the rotor toward and away from the raceway.

Medical pad and system for thermotherapy

An improved medical pad for contact thermal exchange with a patient includes a fluid circulation layer for containing a thermal exchange fluid circulatable therethrough, a first port and a second port for circulating the thermal exchange fluid in to and out of the fluid circulation layer, and a hydrogel layer interconnected to and extending across one side of the fluid circulation layer to define an adhesive surface for adherence to a patient's skin. The hydrogel layer comprises an ultra violet light-cured composition that includes a cross-linking copolymer in an amount of between about 15% to 30% by weight of the composition, water in an amount of between about 15% to 40% by weight of the composition, and glycerol in an amount of between about 25% to 35% by weight of the composition. The hydrogel layer is provided to have a thermal conductivity of at least about 1.9 cal/hr-cm-° C.
