Disclosed herein is a composition for suppressed die lip buildup. The composition may comprise from about 20 wt. % to about 98 wt. % of a polycarbonate; from about 0.01 wt. % to about 30 wt. % of a polybutylene terephthalate; from about 0.5 wt. % to about 60 wt. % of a functional filler; from about 0.1 wt. % to about 5 wt. % of an ultra-high molecular weight polydimethylsiloxane; and from about 0.01 wt. % to about 30 wt. % of a flame retardant component. The composition may exhibit a notched Izod impact strength of greater than 30 J/m when tested in accordance with ASTM D256 and may exhibit less die buildup during a continuous extrusion process when compared to a substantially similar reference composition in the absence of the ultra-high molecular weight polydimethylsiloxane.

A coated film with barrier properties can include a film comprising a layer selected from the group consisting of a polymer layer, vacuum applied coating, a printed layer, and a primer coating; an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer/ethylene acrylic acid copolymer blend (EVOH/EAA) barrier coating on the layer and comprising ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) and ethylene acrylic acid copolymer (EAA) at a weight ratio of EVOH to EAA of 1.5:1 to about 6:1, wherein the EAA has an acrylic acid content of 10 wt % to 35 wt %; and wherein the coated film has percent reduction in oxygen transmission rate (23° C., 50% relative humidity) of 80% or greater relative to a same film without the EVOH/EAA barrier coating.

The present invention relates to silane crosslinking catalyst comprising: —75 to 85 wt.-% of an olefin acrylate interpolymer and—15 to 25 wt.-% of a hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) having a number average molecular weight Mn of 1500 to 4000 g/mol; and—optionally up to 5 wt.-% wax, wherein the silane crosslinking catalyst is free of tin, carboxylic acid(s) and sulphonic acid(s), all weight percentages with respect to the total weight of the silane crosslinking catalyst.

A multilayer structure includes an oriented polyethylene film and a barrier layer disposed on at least one surface of the oriented polyethylene film. The oriented polyethylene film comprises at least one layer having a polymer blend of at least one ethylene-based polymer and at least one ethylene acid copolymer. The ethylene-based polymer has a density of 0.910 to 0.960 g/cm.sup.3 and a melt index (I.sub.2) of 0.3 to 10 g/10 mins. The ethylene acid copolymer is the polymerized reaction product of ethylene monomer, monomer selected from the group consisting of monocarboxylic acids, dicarboxylic acids, anhydrides, and monoesters thereof, and optionally alkyl acrylate monomer. From 0 to 90 mol. % of total acid units of the ethylene acid copolymer may be neutralized with a neutralizing salt solution.
