Device for removing heat, energy, and/or fluid from a living mammal
The present invention provides improved devices for removing energy and fluid from body fluid containing spaces and surfaces of a mammal, the devices including isolated air and water delivery systems configured to simultaneously deliver streams of dry air and liquid water to the nostrils of a patient, without allowing the streams to come into contact with one-another until it enters the patient's nostrils.
RESPIRATORY THERAPEUTIC ELECTRIC HEAT SOURCE FACE MASK
A therapeutic face mask apparatus for wearers with resistant respiratory viruses, is connected to a heat gun that provides adjustable heated and humidified air for inhalation. The heat gun heats ambient air that is breathed in through the face mask during normal breathing, which is worn over the nose and mouth of a person. A temperature gauge monitors temperature for future adjustment of the amount of heat generating current to raise the heat to a predetermined temperature to deactivate resistant viruses in compromised upper and/or lower respiratory systems of the wearer. The air in the chamber is heated for inhalation by a resistive element in the heat gun. The temperature of the resistive material (and by extension the warm air generated), is regulated/adjusted by increasing or decreasing the current output settings on the power source, so that heated and pressured air is produced.
Targeted delivery of molecules using impedance-based monitoring at elevated temperatures
A method and system for delivering a molecule to a specific area of a tissue by controlling temperature and impedance is presented. The method is generally comprised of applying heat to a biological structure, such as cells or tissues, to heat the biological structure to a preset temperature after which at least one electroporation pulse is administered to the biological structure. Impedance is measured as a feedback control mechanism after each pulse and pulse parameters are adjusted accordingly until desired impedance is reached. The system generally comprises an electroporation system capable of generating at least one pulse, measuring impedance and measuring temperature. The method may be used to deliver a molecule such as a vaccine or therapeutic to a biological structure, such as for prevention or treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
RESPIRATORY THERAPEUTIC ELECTRIC HEAT SOURCE FACE MASK
An improved face mask with a temperature monitored resilient, flexible face barrier to limit the face, eyes, lips, and oral tissues of the mouth of the user from direct exposure to heated air from the mask above threshold temperatures. The improved face mask and heat source conditions air drawn into the face mask before it is actually breathed and thereby supply heated or elevated higher temperature at a therapeutic air pressure to persons in need thereof, particularly to maintain a wearer's upper respiratory system at a further elevated high temperature, capable of inactivating viruses, such as the Coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV-2 virus), killing bacteria, (TB) fungi, biofilms, tumor cells, pre-malignant cancer cells, dysplasia cells and other pathogens, and to promote an immune-stimulatory response and to prevent or inactivate a virus in the respiratory system of the wearer of the heated face mask, in both ambulatory and hospitalization settings.
Gas delivery system for cryochamber
An improved gas delivery system for a cryochamber that increases the efficiency, efficacy, and safety of cryotherapy treatments is disclosed. The system incorporates a high pressure cryogenic liquid source and a plurality of fluid discharge orifices for conveying fluid into the chamber. The orifices may further comprise atomizing nozzles, which eliminate the need for a heater in the system. The orifices are dispersed about the chamber and positioned to convey fluid either clockwise or counterclockwise about a central vertical axis of the chamber to promote cyclonic gas motion. The cryochamber may further comprise shielding that reduces the risks associated with inadvertent liquid discharge. The orifices may also be positioned at varying heights in the chamber and have varying diameters to facilitate targeted cryotherapy treatments. The improved gas delivery system enables the cryochamber to achieve the same or improved therapeutic benefits while consuming less cryogenic liquid per treatment and less energy.
GERMICIDAL FORCED-AIR MEDICAL WARMING SYSTEM
A medical warming system and warming blanket having decontamination means or apparatus for germicidal decontamination of air passing into and/or through the warming blanket.
DEVICES, METHODS AND USES FOR REMOVING HEAT, ENERGY AND FLUIDS FROM A MAMMAL
The present invention provides improved devices for removing energy and fluid from body fluid containing spaces and surfaces of a mammal, and new uses for such devices, including fluid removal, energy removal, increasing metabolic rate; promoting weight loss; preventing esophageal burn-through, reducing beta-amylase accumulation in the brain, delaying or inhibiting the onset of Alzheimer's and other senile dementia.
PATIENT THERMAL REGULATION SYSTEMS
Disclosed herein are devices and systems that conduct temperature-controlled air through one or more enclosed chambers that are placed adjacent to a patient to help control the patient's temperature without blowing air directly on the patient. In some embodiments, the enclosed chamber has an air inlet and an air outlet and a defined air flow pathway therebetween. Air exiting the device can be directed away from the patient. The devices can include a crush-resistant but flexible air-flow layer of material inside the enclosure that allows air flow even when a patient is laying on the device. A cushioning layer can also be included overlaying the air-flow layer. The flowing air can be any desired temperature to help warm or cool a patient. The patient can be a human or animal, for example.
UV Sterilization Apparatus, System, and Method for Forced-Air Patient Heating Systems
An improvement to UV sterilization and disinfection devices and methods is disclosed. An apparatus for sterilization and disinfection includes: a compact, highly effective air sterilization and disinfection apparatus, which delivers clean, pure air directly into a blower/warmer device for clean and effective management of patient body temperature.
Branched tube network and temperature regulating garment with branched tube network
In an embodiment of the present disclosure, a garment for regulating a temperature of a wearer is provided. The garment includes a fabric configured to be worn by the wearer. The fabric includes channels parallel to a primary surface of the fabric. The garment includes a branched tube network for circulating a working fluid. The branched tube network is disposed in the channels of the fabric. The branched tube network includes a plurality of tubes wherein at least one end of each tube of the plurality of tubes is branched and connected to two daughter tubes, or more, the connection having a branch angle of between 1 and 359 degrees, inclusive. The tube network has at least two levels of branches.
