Feminine cooling apparatus and method
An apparatus for providing prolonged topical cooling to the external female genitalia as a therapeutic benefit to and relief from female itching and burning is disclosed as a lightweight, portable cooling unit in combination with one or more labial inserts which are specifically designed to conform to the user's anatomy. The cooling unit is typically a container capable of both cooling and transporting the labial inserts during travel, and providing easy access to relief when needed by the user. A cooled labial insert can be applied to the external female genitalia for treatment of the acute symptoms associated with vulvar inflammation and irritation. The inventive apparatus can maintain a cooling temperature to the affected area for an extended period of time, limited only by the life of the cooling power source. The labial inserts can be worn in public with minimum disruption to the user's clothing and mobility.
Skin treatment apparatus with cooling member
A skin treatment apparatus, such as a microdermabrasion or dermaplaning apparatus, includes a housing having a top end and a bottom end, a treatment head attached to the top end of the housing and arranged to exfoliate skin within a treatment area, and a cooling member provided on the bottom end of the housing arranged to cool skin within the treatment area.
EPILEPTIC SEIZURE PREVENTION OR TREATMENT VIA HEART RATE CLAMPING
We report a method of treating an epileptic seizure in a patient, comprising: detecting said epileptic seizure, based on body data from said patient; and reducing a flow of blood to a brain of said patient in response to said detected seizure; wherein said reducing is effected by: increasing the parasympathetic input to said patient's heart, such as by electrically stimulating a parasympathetic nervous structure, applying cooling energy to a sympathetic nervous structure, or administering a cholinergic or a sympatho-blocking agent to said patient. We also report a medical device system configured to implement the method. We also report a non-transitory computer readable program storage unit encoded with instructions that, when executed by a computer, perform the method.
HEAT EXCHANGE MODULE, SYSTEM AND METHOD
A heat exchange module having a heat transfer fluid channel and a heat transfer plate in heat transfer relation with fluid in the channel. The reference side of a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) is in thermal contact with the plate. A heat transfer tile is in thermal contact with a user side of the TEC. The module is configured to be operatively positionable with the tile in heat transfer relation with skin of a patient.
Monitoring the cooling of subcutaneous lipid-rich cells, such as the cooling of adipose tissue
A system and method of monitoring, controlling and/or detecting events during the removal of heat from subcutaneous lipid-rich tissue is described. In some examples, the system detects an increase in temperature at a treatment device in contact with the skin of a subject, determines that the increase in temperature is related to a treatment event, and performs an action based on the determination. In some examples, the system shuts off the treatment device, alerts an operator, or reduces the cooling in response to a determined treatment event.
Systems, devices and methods for galvanic vestibular stimulation using a modulated version of a generated electrical signal
A method of neurostimulation may include delivering an electrical signal to a plurality of electrodes connected to a patient. The electrical signal may include an amplitude and a carrier frequency. The method may include modulating the electrical signal based on an audio waveform. In some embodiments, the modulating may include modulating at least one of the amplitude and the carrier frequency based on the audio waveform to modulate the electrical signal.
Percussion Massager Having a Temperature-Controlled Massage Node
A temperature-controlled massage node that imparts either or both a heating or cooling effects is provided, which may be attached to a massager to impart a heating or cooling effect on a user with a massage effect, or optionally, without a massage effect. The temperature-controlled massage node may be affixed to the massager or may be removably coupled. The temperature-controlled massage node may be powered by the same power source as the massager or may include an independent power source located, for example, in the massage node. The massage node may be used with a massager that provides percussive massage effects, such as a massage gun, or may be used with a vibrating massager. Optionally, the massage node may include independent power, a controller and a motor to supply both a vibrating massage effect and hot and cold effect, either alone or in combination.
Apparel thermo-regulatory system
Aspects herein are directed to an apparel thermo-regulatory system that actively heats or cools a wearer. The apparel thermo-regulatory system comprises an apparel item, a dimensionally stable frame comprising at least one aperture that is affixed to an outer-facing surface of the apparel item at a predetermined location, an absorbent material applied to an exposed face of the dimensionally stable frame, and at least one thermoelectric module that is releasably positioned within the aperture of the dimensionally stable frame.
METHODS, DEVICES, AND SYSTEMS FOR IMPROVING SKIN CHARACTERISTICS
Provided herein are systems, compositions, and methods for improving one or more skin characteristics in a subject. These systems, compositions, and methods are configured to cool the subject's skin at a target site to a degree that alters adipocyte signaling but does not produce significant destruction of subcutaneous lipid-rich cells. In some embodiments, alteration of adipocyte signaling produces an improvement in one or more skin characteristics.
BLANKET FOR SOOTHING USERS EXPERIENCING HOT FLASHES AND COLD FLASHES
Disclosed herein is a blanket for soothing users experiencing hot flashes and cold flashes, in accordance with some embodiments. Accordingly, the blanket may include at least one first blanket portion and at least one second blanket portion. Further, the at least one first blanket portion may include at least one first element and the at least one second blanket portion may include at least one second element. Further, the at least one first blanket portion configured for soothing at least one first effect of the hot flashes experienced by at least one user based on the at least one first element. Further, the at least one second blanket portion may be configured for soothing at least one second effect of the cold flashes experienced by the at least one user based on the at least one second element.
