Curing accelerator for oxidatively polymerizable unsaturated resin, printing ink and coating material
To provide a curing accelerator for an oxidatively polymerizable unsaturated resin which can decrease the amount of cobalt metal soap used and has curing performance equal to or higher than excellent curing performance of the cobalt metal soap, and a printing ink and a coating material using the same. A curing accelerator for an oxidatively polymerizable unsaturated resin including a manganese or cobalt complex () containing quinolinol compound ions represented by Structural Formula (1) as a ligand, and a printing ink and a coating material including the curing accelerator. ##STR00001##
In the formula, R.sup.1 is any of a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a hydroxyl group, an amino group, a nitro group, a nitroso group, a sulfo group, and a halogen atom, and n is an integer of 1 to 6.
Ink composition
An ink composition is described herein. In one example, an ink includes at least one pigment, at least one dispersant, and at least one durable polymer in a water-based dispersion medium including at least one hydrophilic solvent. The dispersant is present at from about 0.05 wt % to about 15 wt % of the ink composition. Further, the ink composition includes at least one dispersion additive.
Ink composition
An ink composition is described herein. In one example, an ink includes at least one pigment, at least one dispersant, and at least one durable polymer in a water-based dispersion medium including at least one hydrophilic solvent. The dispersant is present at from about 0.05 wt % to about 15 wt % of the ink composition. Further, the ink composition includes at least one dispersion additive.
Radiation curable hybrid inks
The present invention provides radiation curable hybrid ink and coating compositions comprising large amounts of inert hard resin. The radiation hybrid ink and coating compositions have good lithographic properties, low roller swelling, and a low gloss-back effect when overprinted with a UV varnish. The ink and coating compositions are useful for lithographic wet and waterless printing.

The present invention provides radiation curable hybrid ink and coating compositions comprising large amounts of inert hard resin. The radiation hybrid ink and coating compositions have good lithographic properties, low roller swelling, and a low gloss-back effect when overprinted with a UV varnish. CURING ACCELERATOR FOR OXIDATIVELY POLYMERIZED UNSATURATED RESIN, PRINTING INK, AND PAINT
Provided are a curing accelerator for an oxidative polymerization type unsaturated resin having a high curing accelerating ability, and a printing ink and a coating material. Specifically, there are provided a curing accelerator for an oxidative polymerization type unsaturated resin, containing a metal complex () having an anion compound () represented by the following structural formula (1-1) or (1-2) as a ligand:

wherein R.sup.1 is any one of a hydroxyl group, an amino group, a nitro group, a nitroso group, a sulfo group, a halogen atom, a hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent, a hydrocarbon oxy group which may have a substituent, and a hydrocarbon oxycarbonyl group which may have a substituent, m is 0 or an integer of 1 to 3, n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 6, and X is any one of a carboxylate group, a hydrogen atom, and the R.sup.1 group.
ALKYD POLYMER COMPOSITIONS AND PRODUCT FORMULATIONS FORMED THEREFROM
An alkyd polymer composition for use in low volatile organic compound (VOC) containing products that exhibits a Gardner-Holt viscosity with 30 weight % mineral spirits at 25 C. that is less than or equal to Z4, a thy-hard time of less than 10 hours when tested with metal driers according to ASTM D 1640-03, and a clear appearance. The alkyd polymer composition includes, as polymerized units an alkyd polymer of one or more fatty acids; a sugar alcohol having at least 6 carbon atoms; a polyol with four or more hydroxyl functional groups; and an aromatic polyacid with two carboxylic acid groups located in a meta-position relative to one another. The alkyd polymer composition includes at least one aliphatic oxide ring having one or more peaks located between 75 to 90 ppm as measured using C.sup.13 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.

Active energy ray curable ink composition and method for manufacturing printed matter using same
To provide an active energy ray-curable ink composition that contains high rates of raw materials derived from biomass and can maintain basic characteristics, such as compatibility. Provided is an active energy ray-curable ink composition containing a pigment, a compound having ethylenically unsaturated bonds, and a rosin-modified alkyd resin, wherein the rosin-modified alkyd resin is a condensed polymer of an acid ingredient containing a resin acid, a fatty acid, and a polybasic acid with a polyhydric alcohol, and has a solubility parameter (sp) value of 9.0 to 11.0 (cal/cm.sup.3).sup.1/2 as measured by turbidimetric titration and an acid value of 1 to 50 mg KOH/g.
Active energy ray curable ink composition and method for manufacturing printed matter using same
To provide an active energy ray-curable ink composition that contains high rates of raw materials derived from biomass and can maintain basic characteristics, such as compatibility. Provided is an active energy ray-curable ink composition containing a pigment, a compound having ethylenically unsaturated bonds, and a rosin-modified alkyd resin, wherein the rosin-modified alkyd resin is a condensed polymer of an acid ingredient containing a resin acid, a fatty acid, and a polybasic acid with a polyhydric alcohol, and has a solubility parameter (sp) value of 9.0 to 11.0 (cal/cm.sup.3).sup.1/2 as measured by turbidimetric titration and an acid value of 1 to 50 mg KOH/g.
