The present application relates to an encapsulant for a PV module, a method of manufacturing the same and a PV module. The encapsulant according to an embodiment of the present application has excellent heat resistance or the like and improved creep physical properties, and thus even when the encapsulant is used under conditions of a high temperature and/or high humidity for a long time, deformation is small and the encapsulant can exhibit excellent adhesive strength. Accordingly, when the encapsulant is applied to a PV module, durability or the like may be improved.

The present disclosure provides a composition. The composition includes (A) an ethylene-based polymer and (B) from 5 wt % to 15 wt % of a metal hydroxide component, based on the total weight of the composition. The metal hydroxide component includes a metal hydroxide having an aspect ratio greater than, or equal to, 10. The composition has a thermal conductivity greater than 0.52 W m-.sup.1 K-.sup.1 and a density less than, or equal to 1.02 g/cc. The present disclosure also provides a coated conductor including a non-metal conductor and a coating on the conductor, the coating containing the composition.

The present invention relates to a carpet backing layer composition, comprising: —100 parts by weight of a polyolefins or a blend of polyolefins and optionally a blend of oils, wax and tackifiers, said polyolefin or polyolefin blend comprising at least 0% by weight of (co)polymerized C3-C8 alfa-olefins—between 100 and 900 parts by weight of one or more inorganic filler(s) characterized by a volume median particle diameter (D50) comprised between 10 and 1000 μm; —the backing layer composition having a heat of fusion within the temperature range of from 10 to 40° C. (ΔH.sup.10.fwdarw.40° C.) that is less than 12.5% of the heat of fusion of the backing layer within the temperature range of from 10 to 170° C. (ΔH.sup.10.fwdarw.170° C.), the heat of fusion being measured by Differential Scanning calorimetry. The invention further relates to a carpet comprising a carpet backing layer obtained from the carpet backing layer composition and a method for the preparation of the carpet.

THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING RECYCLED POLYMERS AND ARTICLES MANUFACTURED THEREFROM

In various embodiments, a thermoplastic composition may comprise from 0.5 wt. % to 75.0 wt. % of recycled polyethylene comprising a blend of polyethylene recovered from post-consumer material, pre-consumer material, or combinations thereof, and from 25.0 wt. % to 99.5 wt. % of virgin raw polyethylene comprising unimodal polyethylene, bimodal polyethylene, or combinations thereof, wherein at least 90.0 wt. % of the thermoplastic composition is comprised of the post-consumer recycled polyethylene and the virgin raw polyethylene. Manufactured articles made from the thermoplastic composition, such as coated conductors, are also provided.

The invention provides a flame retardant material comprising a substrate, an optionally corona-treated coating on the substrate, the coating comprising a polyolefin composition comprising a) an ethylene based plastomer with a density in the range of 0.857 to 0.915 g/cm.sup.3 and an MFR.sub.2 in the range 0.5-30 g/10 min; b) a propylene based plastomer with a density in the range of 0.860 to 0.910 g/cm.sup.3 and an MFR.sub.2 in the range 0.01-30 g/10 min; and c) a flame retardant, a primer layer on top of the coating and a lacquer topcoat.

A process for producing a sealed stitched skin structure including the steps of: (a) providing a stitched skin member; (b) providing an aqueous thermoplastic polyolefin dispersion sealant coating composition; (c) applying the aqueous thermoplastic polyolefin dispersion sealant coating composition from step (a) to at least a portion of the surface of at least one side of the skin member to form a wet film or coating of the thermoplastic polyolefin dispersion sealant coating composition on the surface of the skin member; (d) drying the wet coating from step (c) on the skin member surface; and (e) heating the dried skin member from step (d) at a temperature sufficient to form a film or coating of the aqueous thermoplastic polyolefin dispersion sealant coating composition on the stitches of the seam in the skin member; wherein the film or coating seals the stitches in the skin member; a sealed stitched skin structure made by the process above; and a polyurethane foamed article.
