Implantable joint having heating system
12016778 · 2024-06-25 ·

Devices that are implantable within a patient's body, and more specifically, to implantable joints (e.g. hip joint, knee joint, shoulder joint, etc.) having a heating system. For example, a device implantable within a patient's body may include a first member configured to be coupled to a first bone and a second member configured to be coupled to a second bone, the first and second members being operatively coupled to form a moveable joint. A heating system may be configured to controllably heat at least a portion of the at least one of the first and second members. The heating system may include a controller operable to cause a heating element to apply heat based on one or more external conditions (e.g. temperature, humidity, etc.).

ELECTRIC HEATING PADS AND MATTRESSES

An electric heating pad for warming a patient includes a heated underbody support or heated mattress. The heated underbody support or mattress includes a heater assembly having a flexible sheet-like heating element, conductive bus bars attached at or near side edges of the heating element, and fabric side edge extensions attached to heating element side edges. The heated underbody support or mattress also includes a layer of polymeric foam positioned under the heater assembly and a shell, including at least two sheets of flexible material, covering at least a portion of the heater assembly and the layer of polymeric foam. When the heater assembly is wrapped around the top surface of the layer of polymeric foam, side edges of the heating element extend partially down the two side walls of the layer of polymeric foam and the conductive bus bars lie adjacent those two side walls.

ELECTRICALLY HEATED UNDERPANTS

Electrically heated underpants are revealed. The electrically heated underpants include an underwear main body, at least one pocket arranged at an outer surface of a front side or a rear side of the underwear main body, and at least one piece of electrically heated textile mounted into the pocket. The pocket is corresponding to abdomen or a lower back of users. The electrically heated textile generates heat and maintains a constant temperature after a current passed therethrough. Thereby the electrically heated underpants can keep users' abdomen and waist warm and further provide health benefits such as keeping the body warm, relieving dull pain in abdomen during the menstrual period, reducing waist and abdominal pain, etc.

MASSAGE APPARATUS INCLUDING OSCILLATORS

Disclosed is a massage apparatus including oscillators which receive supplied power and oscillate under control of a controller. Here, two oscillators installed to allow oscillation directions thereof to be at right angle are included, and the controller sequentially controls power supplied to the two oscillators to perform oscillations in an order of a bowel movement direction.

BIOMETRICALLY RESPONSIVE ACTIVATION SYSTEM

A system and method for detecting the onset and conclusion of a hot flash is described. The system is configured to automatically operate a cooling device to minimize the discomfort and effects of the hot flash on a user. The system includes a wearable device and a power control device. The wearable device measures conductance across the skin to detect hot flashes. When detected, the wearable device communicates with the power control device to activate a cooling device. The cooling device is deactivated when conductance readings detect the ending of the hot flash. The automatic operation of the cooling device allows the user to get better rest by minimizing the effects of the hot flash.
