Wax Coating Compositions

The present wax coating compositions are based on the use of n-alpha olefins instead of petroleum-based paraffin waxes otherwise currently employed. The coating composition may be used with various coating techniques, however, the compositions herein are found useful especially in curtain coating, cascading, saturating or impregnating technologies. Other coating techniques include roll coating or the use of coating or Meyer rods.

ENCAPSULANT COMPOSITION COMPRISING A COPOLYMER OF ETHYLENE, VINYL ACETATE AND A THIRD COMONOMER
20180233613 · 2018-08-16 ·

Provided herein is an encapsulant composition. The encapsulant composition, which is useful in photovoltaic modules, comprises a copolymer of ethylene, vinyl acetate and a third comonomer. Preferred third comonomers include methacrylic acid, carbon monoxide, acrylic acid, maleic anhydride mono-methyl ester (MAME), and maleic anhydride. Further provided herein is a photovoltaic module comprising the encapsulant composition. The photovoltaic module is less susceptible to potential-induced degradation than are photovoltaic modules that use conventional encapsulants that are primarily copolymers of ethylene and vinyl acetate.

Coating agent aqueous dispersion
10030163 · 2018-07-24 · ·

A coating agent aqueous dispersion comprising, as solid matters, 20 to 80 wt. %, preferably 29 to 70 wt. %, of PTFE, 10 to 50 wt. %, preferably 14 to 36 wt. %, of acrylic resin, and 10 to 50 wt. %, preferably 20 to 45 wt. %, of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin. When the coating agent aqueous dispersion of the present invention is used as a surface-treating agent for rubber-made sealing materials, etc., a reduction in stickiness to the sealing mate material and the prevention of blooming on the surface of the rubber material are obtained. Combined with the flexibility, the adhesion balance between the rubber material and the coating agent is excellent.

Method for treating exterior lumber products
12122931 · 2024-10-22 ·

A method of treating a surface of wood products to inhibit the uptake of moisture into the wood by providing an aqueous formulation comprising polyethylene-vinyl acetate in water, 2-99 percent polyethylene-vinyl acetate by weight. The aqueous formulation is applied to the surface of wood products, wherein the wood products remain outdoors or in a damp environment having 60% or greater relative humidity. The aqueous formulation is allowed to dry and form a micro-film on the surface of the wood products. The moisture content in the wood products is maintained at 16 percent or less. A pesticide effect on the surface of the wood products is produced, inhibiting infestation of the wood products by insects.
