Heat expandable foam for low temperature cure
A thermally expandable composition, including at least one polymer, cross-linkable by peroxide, at least one peroxide, preferably at least one antioxidant, at least one chemical blowing agent, and at least one activator, wherein the activator includes at least one compound selected from formula (I), ##STR00001##
wherein radicals R.sup.1 and R.sup.4 represent hydrogen atoms or monovalent alkyl radicals with 1 to 10 carbon atoms which optionally include oxygen atoms; R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 represent hydrogen atoms or monovalent alkyl radicals with 1 to 10 carbon atoms which optionally include oxygen atoms, nitrogen atoms, and/or aromatic moieties or R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 together form a divalent alkyl radical with 1 to 10 carbon atoms which optionally includes oxygen atoms, nitrogen atoms or aromatic moieties. The composition shows excellent properties in terms of expansion stability over a wide temperature range, can be expanded at temperatures below 150° C. and is suitable for baffle and/or reinforcement elements.
Curable semiconducting composition
A rubberless, strippable, semiconducting composition that includes an ethylene-(carboxylic ester) copolymer having a low comonomeric unit content, carbon black, and a strippability additive combination comprising an amide wax and a silicone oil. Also provided are a cured product made from the composition, methods of making and using same, and articles containing same.
LAYERED GAS-BARRIER PRODUCT AND PACKAGING BAG
Provided is a gas barrier laminate including: a paper substrate; a layer including a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin; a vapor-deposited layer; and a layer including a polyolefin having a polar group, in order.
Flame-retardant cable with self-extinguishing coating layer
A flame-retardant cable having a core is disclosed. The cable contains at least one conductor and a coating made from a low smoke zero halogen flame-retardant polymer composition. The polymer composition contains a halogen free base polymer added with a) less than 170 phr of at least one metal hydroxide; b) from 1 to 10 phr of a phyllosilicate clay; c) at least 1 phr and less than 10 phr of melamine or a derivative thereof; and d) an alkali or alkaline-earth metal carbonate. The cable has improved reaction to fire performances especially in that no dripping occurs during burning, which renders it compliant with the requirements of the more recent international standards.

Method for Treating Exterior Lumber Products
A method of treating a surface of wood products to inhibit the uptake of moisture into the wood by providing an aqueous formulation comprising polyethylene-vinyl acetate in water, 2-99 percent polyethylene-vinyl acetate by weight. The aqueous formulation is applied to the surface of wood products, wherein the wood products remain outdoors or in a damp environment having 60% or greater relative humidity. The aqueous formulation is allowed to dry and form a micro-film on the surface of the wood products. The moisture content in the wood products is maintained at 16 percent or less. A pesticide effect on the surface of the wood products is produced, inhibiting infestation of the wood products by insects.
GAS-BARRIER LAYERED BODY AND PACKAGING BODY
Provided is a gas barrier laminate including: a paper substrate; an anchor coat layer including a first polyolefin having a polar group; a vapor-deposited layer; and an overcoat layer including a second polyolefin having a polar group, in order.
MATERIAL RESTORATION COMPOSITION AND METHOD
A method of restoring a material surface utilizes a first composition (referred to herein as Composition A) and a second composition (referred to herein as Composition B). Methodologies guide application of Composition A and optionally Composition B to enact various restoration advantages to existing or new material surfaces. Composition A may be first applied to a material surface to remove surface contaminants and lift stains. During the described methodology, a user must wait a predetermined amount of time for Composition A to permeate the material surface. Optionally, Composition B may be subsequently applied to bond voids and damages areas of the material surface, or to add a new surface altogether above the original surface. A user may wait a predetermined amount of time for Composition B to cure.
PACKAGING MATERIAL AND PACKAGING BAG USING SAME
The present invention provides a packaging material that allows for lesser adsorption of a medicinal component on the material, that can be processed into a packaging pouch without using an adhesive, and that has excellent tearability. Specifically, the present invention provides a packaging material including, on or above one or both surfaces of a substrate, a primer layer and a low-adsorption coating layer with a grammage of 0.5 to 20 g/m.sup.2 in this order, wherein the primer layer contains an acid-modified product of a block copolymer that contains a block A containing a structural unit derived from an aromatic vinyl compound, and a block B containing a structural unit derived from a conjugated diene compound and/or an acid-modified product of a hydrogenated product of the block copolymer; and the low-adsorption coating layer contains a cyclic polyolefin.
Binder for carpet coating compositions
The object of the invention is the use of an aqueous dispersion of a vinylacetate-ethylene-copolymer and of at least one polyethylene imine as a binder in a carpet coating composition for the production of carpets.
