Rapidly Dehydrating Lost Circulation Material (LCM)

A rapidly dehydrating lost circulation material (LCM) composition is provided. The LCM composition may include a carrier fluid, volcanic ash, a viscosifier, and date tree rachis fibers. The carrier fluid may be water and the viscosifier may be a cellulosic microfiber. The LCM composition may form a rapidly dehydrating loss control slurry (RDLCS). The LCM composition may be formed by mixing the carrier fluid, the volcanic ash, the viscosifier, and the date tree rachis fibers in a mixer to form a homogenous mixture. Methods of lost circulation control and manufacture of a rapidly dehydrating LCM are also provided.

Choline-based crosslinker compositions for fracturing fluids

Disclosed are compositions derived of mixtures of choline ion salts (typically choline chloride) in aqueous solution with suspended particulates of sparingly soluble borate minerals or with alkali or alkaline earth borate salts, boric acid and its ester derivatives and salts, or other aqueous soluble borate forms. These compositions are useful as cross-linkers for polysaccharides and other biopolymers and particularly as used in subterranean treatment fluids for completion and stimulation of oil and gas wells. Advantages of the compositions are the combination into a single package of the properties of clay stabilizing actives (choline ion) and crosslinking actives (borates, etc.), in relatively high concentrations, and these compositions are easy to handle, being stable and pumpable at low temperatures, and with attractive environmental profiles. Also disclosed are the analogous choline solutions mixed with metallic cross-linking ions know in the art such as Zr.sup.+, Ti.sup.4+, Al.sup.3+, & Fe.sup.3+.

Vulcanized rubber and date tree based lost circulation material (LCM) blend

A vulcanized rubber and date tree based lost circulation material (LCM) is provided. The vulcanized rubber and date tree based LCM includes vulcanized rubber particles, date tree seed particles produced from date tree seeds, and date tree fibers produced from date tree waste. The LCM may include vulcanized rubber particles in the range of 20 pounds-per-barrel (ppb) to 40 ppb in the drilling fluid, date tree seed particles in the range of 50 ppb to 70 ppb in the drilling fluid, and date tree fibers in the range of 10 ppb to 40 ppb in a drilling fluid, including a first size of fibers in the range of 5 ppb to 20 ppb, and a second size of fibers in the range of 5 ppb to 20 ppb. Methods of lost circulation control and manufacture of the vulcanized rubber and date tree based LCM are also provided.

The instant invention relates to a process for the encapsulation of a non-amine hydrophilic compound C, comprising the steps of: (E1) providing a reverse emulsion containing: an oil phase (O), comprising a curable mixture of isocyanate and polyalkyldiene hydroxylated or polyol dispersed in said oil phase, drops of an aqueous phase W.sup.1, containing: said non-amine hydrophilic compound C; and at least 5% by weight of a compound C carrying more than 2 amine groups; (E2) pouring the reverse emulsion of step (E1) in a second water phase W.sup.2 to make a multiple emulsion water/oil/water; and, then, (E3) curing into polyurethane all or part of the curable mixture contained in the oil phase.
