CERVICAL ORTHOTIC TECHNIQUES
Techniques for a cervical orthotic device are provided. In an example, the device can include a base, sidewalls extending upwardly from the base, and a cervical support surface opposite the base and configured to unite the sidewalls. In certain examples, the sidewalls can include opposingly paired lateral sidewalls and first and second longitudinal sidewalls. In some examples, the cervical support surface can include a first planar portion adjacent the first longitudinal sidewall, a second planar portion adjacent the second longitudinal sidewall, and an arcuate portion intermediate the planar portions.

DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR PERSONALIZED SKIN TREATMENT FOR HOME USE
The present invention relates to a mask-shaped skin treatment device and system. The device comprises one or more coupling agent detectors configured to detect presence of coupling agent on one or more skin portions of a user and one or more heating elements configured to cause local heating of one or more skin portions of the user. The one or more heating elements are configured to cause heat selectively based on the presence of coupling agent measured by the one or more coupling agent detectors.

Heat exchange pads for use on a patient are described herein. An example heat exchange pad can include a surface defining an internal volume and having a flexible patient contacting portion, an inlet fluidly connected to the internal volume for delivery of fluid into the internal volume, an outlet fluidly connected to the internal volume for removal of fluid from the internal volume, and at least one extended surface structure positioned within the internal volume to disrupt laminar flow of fluid from the inlet to the outlet.

Headwear (2) for removing heat from a person's scalp in order to prevent hair loss, comprising a body portion (4) for fitting over the scalp, an inlet (6) and an outlet (8), and fastener means (10) the headwear (2) being such that it opens to a flat condition when it is not in use on the person's head (12), and the body portion (4) comprises a plurality of internal walls (14) which define a passageway (18) through the body portion (4) from the inlet (6) to the outlet (8) whereby the cold fluid is able to circulate through the body portion (4), and the passageways (16) being such that they are expanded by the cold fluid and press against the person's scalp with a pressure which causes contact with the person's scalp and thereby to facilitate maximum cold transfer.
Therapeutic eye pod system
An orbital temperature treatment kit has a new container base, hinged cover and handle. An inner partition in the base is a mount for electrical features and a heat exchanger with transfer fins and a heat sink. The inner partition has recesses for temperature change of pods held in spaces between parallel fins. The frame for holding the pods in place for treatment has two large lenses, a nose piece joining the lenses and hinged temples. The lenses support slotted receivers with fasteners that engage fasteners on tabs attached to the pods.
Wearable Covering for a Lower-Extremity Immobilization Device
A protective covering for an immobilization device to be worn over a patient's lower extremity. The covering protects the immobilization device and underlying extremity from outside dirt, debris, and contagions, with the intention of achieving an overall improved healing rate. In various disclosed embodiments, this protective covering is either semi-permeable or impermeable to water, and includes any of a non-slip sole, pockets for holding ice packs with therapeutic effect, and a rechargeable battery.

An economical dual modality system can be manufactured and used in a method including the steps of assembling a system including a durable energy subsystem and a replaceable thermal subsystem, activating the replaceable thermal subsystem, attaching the system to a desired treatment area of a user's body, and activating the durable energy subsystem. The replaceable thermal subsystem delivers thermal energy to the desired treatment area at a predetermined temperature range for at least 30 minutes, and the durable energy subsystem delivers energy from the group consisting of non-visible light electromagnetic radiation, visible light radiation, electromagnetic field, microcurrent, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, sonophoresis and combinations thereof independently of the thermal energy.
