A heat exchanging pack comprises a substance receiving portion, a first strap receiving portion disposed adjacent a first side of the substance receiving portion, a second strap receiving portion disposed adjacent a second side of the substance receiving portion, and a strap configured for releasably coupling the heat exchanging pack to a portion of a body. The strap includes a first portion extending through the first strap receiving portion, a second portion extending between the first strap receiving portion and the second strap receiving portion, a third portion extending through the second strap receiving portion, and a fourth portion extending out from the first strap receiving portion. The second portion and the fourth portion of the strap are configured to extend at least partially around a portion of a user in need of treatment to releasably couple the heat exchanging pack to the portion of the user.
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for the treatment of damaged tissue
A therapeutic apparatus for treating damaged tissue on a limb or body of a subject includes a wearable adapted to cover and be secured to the limb or body of a subject over damaged tissue. The wearable being configured to reduce pressure on the damaged tissue and adapted to deliver one or more treatments selected from the group consisting of heat, oxygen, electrical current, and light to the damaged tissue.
Fungal infection treatment
A fungal infection treatment includes a container comprised of a thermally conductive material. In this way the container can be heated by the boiled water when the boiled water is poured from the cup into the container. A cover is positionable on the container to close the container to inhibit the boiled water from being spilled from the container. A drape is provided that has an opening extending therethrough. In this way the drape can be positioned on a respective one of the user's appendages having the opening exposing a nail on the respective appendage. The container is positionable in the opening when the drape is positioned on the appendage. In this way the container can transfer heat from the boiled water to the nail on the respective appendage for treating a fungal infection of the nail bed.
APPARATUS FOR THERMAL THERAPY TREATMENT OF A SELECTED REGION OF THE BODY OF A HUMAN OR OF AN ANIMAL AND METHOD OF OPERATING SAID APPARATUS
The invention relates to a device for use in the thermal therapy treatment of a selected region of the body of a human or of an animal, in particular for use in the treatment of tissue damage after surgical interventions, of injuries, of inflammations and of chronic diseases of the rheumatic type, and in particular for assisting chemotherapeutic treatments, comprising a temperature control device which is provided in order to control a temperature of a temperature control fluid, and a heat transfer device which is arranged to transfer heat to the selected region of the body, wherein the temperature control device is connected, in a fluid conducting manner, to the heat transfer device, and is further arranged to temper the heat transfer device with a heat transferring temperature control fluid flowing through the heat transfer device, and with a control device which is connected to the temperature control device and to the heat transfer device, wherein the control device is arranged to control the temperature control device, in order to cause the heat transfer device to be at least partially at an approximately uniform temperature in the region of a contact surface between the heat transfer device and the selected region of the body to be temperature controlled. The invention further relates to a method of operating the device.
HEAT PACK WITH SUPERCOOLED AQUEOUS SALT SOLUTION AND GLYCERIN
A heat pack using supercooled aqueous salt solution that resists premature activation at low temperatures is disclosed. The heat pack comprises two sheets that are bonded together to form a laminated sheet. The heat pack has a first and second compartment. A frangible seal separates the two compartments. One of the compartments contains a supercooled aqueous salt solution. The salt solution contains 15 to 25 percent glycerin by mass.
System and method for cooling or heating a human body part
A system for cooling or heating a body part includes at least one bladder, a pump, a heat exchanger, a first fluid line in fluid communication with the heat exchanger and the at least one bladder, a second fluid line in fluid communication with the at least one bladder and the heat exchanger, a main reservoir and a separator. The heat exchanger is in fluid communication with the pump. The first fluid line is located downstream from the heat exchanger and the second fluid line is located downstream from the at least one bladder when the system is operating to cool or heat the body part. The separator is in fluid communication with the main reservoir and the pump and is located below the main reservoir to receive fluid under the influence of gravity from the main reservoir and to deliver fluid to the pump via gravity.
Arm warming device
An arm warming device including a sleeve. A shoulder cover is connected to a proximal end of the sleeve. A strap is connected to the shoulder cover to secure the arm warming device to the user. A heating element is disposed within the sleeve for applying heat to the arm of the user. The heating element comprises far infrared fiber material. The sleeve includes an interior layer, a central layer, and an outer layer of a substantially waterproof material. The heating element is integrated with the central layer for applying heat to the arm of the user.
APPLICATOR DEVICE, RELATED APPARATUS AND METHOD
The invention pertains to an applicator device 10 for an apparatus 100 used in a localized cryotherapy treatment. The applicator device 10 is configured, when positioned over a body area to be treated, to receive and to uniformly distribute across the entire area covered thereby a stream of medium, such as air, adjusted to a temperature equal to or above −40 degrees Celsius (° C.) and directed, at a predetermined speed, via said applicator 10 to the area to be treated, whereby a cold-induced thermal shock response is developed in skin and an underlying tissue within the area covered by said applicator. Related apparatus 100 and a method are further provided.
Inflatable Therapy Band with Pockets
An inflatable therapy band with pocket comprises a circular band configured to removably be secured about a head. The band comprises four pockets for an ice pack and four inflatable air bladders. The pocket for the ice packets and air bladders alternate about the length of the band. An air pump is provided on the band which is in pneumatic communication with the air bladders.
