Hilotherapy Shoulder Wrap and Strap Assembly
The hilotherapy wrap includes a conventional removable internal water bladder, an exterior cloth cover enclosing the bladder and a detachable strap assembly that allows the wrap to be donned and doffed by the user without assistance and using only one arm. The strap assembly includes a pair of elastic straps detachably connected to the cover by hook and loop fasteners affixed to a strap anchor and one of the strap ends. The strap assembly also includes a quick connect buckles and a slide or D-ring that allows both ends of the straps to be connected to the cover before tensioned snugly around the user.
MODULAR TEMPERATURE CONTROL DEVICE AND METHOD
Described embodiments provide systems and methods for managing the temperature of an item that includes a first flap portion and a second flap portion defining between them a first pouch containing substance; a third flap portion and the second flap portion defining between them a second pouch containing substance; a first portion of a fastener attached to the front side of the first flap portion; a first complementary portion of the fastener attached to the obverse side of the second flap portion; a second complementary portion of the fastener attached to the obverse side of the third flap portion.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR THERMOREGULATION OF CORE BODY TEMPERATURE THROUGH APPLICATION OF NEAR INFRARED RADIATION AND LOCALIZED THERMAL TRANSFER ON SKIN SURFACES
The invention presents methods and devices for controlling and modifying the core body temperature of a human or other mammal. The apparatus contains an element to be placed in contact with an individual's skin, such as the palm of a hand or sole of a foot; the element emits radiation, preferably within the red to infrared range of 550 nm to 950 nm, inducing vasodilation and increased blood flow in the region beneath the contacting area. A heat exchange element is concurrently in contact with the skin, capable of transferring heat into or removing heat from the circulatory vasculature, through the skin surface. The circulatory system carries the increase or decrease in thermal energy to the body's core organs. As such the method and devices are capable of increasing or decreasing the core body temperature, or maintaining current core body temperature in the presence of external thermal elements.
COLD THERAPY DEVICE
The present invention is directed to a device for absorbing heat from a body. More particularly, the invention pertains to an improved device which utilizes a gel material comprising liquids and solids to absorb, over an extended period of time, heat from a body. The present invention also includes methods of providing cold therapy treatment to a user
SYSTEM, METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR PROVIDING TRAINING FOR PAIN IMPROVEMENT
The inventive concept refers to a system, a method, and a computer program for providing training for pain improvement. According to an exemplary embodiment, a training providing method for pain improvement includes requesting, by a computer, a temperature providing device to provide a first temperature to a first body point, requesting, by the computer, the temperature providing device to provide a second temperature to a second body point, requesting a user to select a temperature matched with a specific condition among the first temperature and the second temperature, and calculating a correct answer rate after performing a trial of distinguishing between the first temperature and the second temperature by a predetermined number.
Therapeutic device for heating and icing body parts
Systems and methods for treating and rehabilitating animals are provided. The systems and methods include harnesses and related devices, including compresses and heating/icing devices. The devices further include and comprise features to enable the device to be contoured to and secured to an animal. Animals contemplated for use with devices and methods of the present disclosure include, but are not limited to, canines and humans.
System for treating unwanted tissue using heat and heat activated drugs
The invention can selectively heat a diseased area in the lung while minimizing heating to the healthy area and surrounding tissue. This is done by exposing the lung to an electromagnetic field causing dielectric or eddy current heating. The invention is particularly useful for treating emphysema as the diseased areas have reduced blood flow. The diseased area will heat up rapidly while the healthy tissue will be cooled by the blood flow. This is particularly effective for treating emphysema because of the low mass of the lungs and the high blood flow. To avoid heating of surrounding organs the direction of the electromagnetic energy is switched in a way it always passes through lungs but only intermittently passes through adjacent organs. If heat activated drugs are present in the lungs, they are selectively released in the heated tissue.
Ear-fitting device and warming device
Disclosed is an ear-fitting device and a warming device configured to suppress burn of an ear by a warming body. The ear-fitting device according to the disclosure is wearable on an ear and includes a contact portion for contacting a predetermined site of an auricle, and a retainer portion for retaining a warming body capable of warming the predetermined site of the auricle through the contact portion. The retainer portion serves to retain the warming body via the contact portion, in a state where it is spaced from the contact portion.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR MANIPULATING TEMPERATURE
Methods and devices for manipulating the temperature of a surface are generally provided. The present disclosure relates to a device including one or more heating and/or cooling elements, or other suitable thermal adjustment apparatus(es), placed near a surface, such as the skin of a user. The device may be configured to generate one or more (optionally alternating) thermal profiles at the surface, which may include a series of thermal pulses and/or essentially continuous or semi-continuous thermal input, which may vary over time. Such thermal profiles, when suitably applied, may provide enhanced thermal sensations for a user which, in some cases, may provide the user with a more pleasurable thermal experience than would otherwise be the case without the generation of the thermal profiles. In some embodiments, an alternating thermal profile may include an average frequency, an oscillation window, and/or an average temperature, each of which may be adjustable.
THERMAL SYSTEM WITH PATIENT SENSOR(S)
A thermal control unit supplies temperature controlled fluid to a patient to control the patients temperature. The thermal control unit includes a fluid outlet, fluid inlet, heat exchanger, pump, patient core temperature probe port, auxiliary sensor port, and controller. The controller receives patient core temperature readings from the patient temperature probe port and auxiliary sensor readings from the auxiliary sensor port. The controller may control a temperature of the circulating fluid in both a feedback manner using patient core temperature readings and a feedforward manner using readings from the auxiliary sensor. The auxiliary sensor may measure a characteristic of the patients tissue indicative of thermal resistance, and/or the auxiliary sensor may measure a temperature of the patients tissue at an intermediate depth. The controller may use the intermediate temperature to predict arrival at a target patient temperature. The auxiliary sensor may be an ultrasonic sensor, infrared sensor, or the like.
