DEVICE FOR WARMING A MUSCLE
A device for warming or rehabilitating a muscle for maintaining muscle readiness in sporting events or for retaining body heat. The disclosure identifies a device for warming or rehabilitating a muscle that includes a muscle wrap using a nylon layer and an insulation material. The muscle wrap works in combination with at least one fastener band to offer an athlete the ability to conform the device to a body for heat retention while minimizing blood flow restriction. The nylon layer retains internal body moisture to deter evaporative cooling while repelling external moisture to deter temperature reduction in the muscle.
Energy Harvesting, Heat Managing, Multi-effect Therapeutic Garment
An energy harvesting, heat managing, multi-effect therapeutic garment, defining an inner surface and an outer surface, seamlessly knitted using a predetermined number of yarns is provided. The yarns for constructing the therapeutic garment are selected from a yarn that absorbs, stores, and releases heat energy through a phase change, yarns that convert heat energy and ultra violet radiation energy into far infrared radiation energy and radiate the far infrared radiation energy to other yarns and to a wearer's body part, a yarn that adsorbs moisture from the wearer's body part and/or ambient environment and generates heat energy through an exothermic reaction, a heat insulting and hydrophobic yarn, and a heat conductive yarn that maintains a uniform temperature within the yarns. The yarns of the therapeutic garment are bundled and knitted to create a uniform surface area distribution of the yarns that contact each other and cover the wearer's body part.
Fertility-enhancing cooling seat
A fertility-enhancing cooling seat for lowering temperatures of human testicles so as to increase sperm quality and quantity. The cooling seat includes: a top flexible portion and a base portion; a bottom flexible portion coupled to the top flexible portion, the bottom flexible portion forming a seal with the base portion, portions of the bottom flexible portion and portions of the top flexible portion defining isolated cooling cells with cooling-cell volumetric spaces; a phase-change material located in the cooling-cell volumetric spaces, the phase-change material configured to change from a solid phase to a liquid phase at a first temperature and that is configured to change from a liquid phase to a solid phase at a second temperature that is lower than the first temperature. At least one of the isolated cooling cells defines a diameter that is larger than a diameter of the other of the cooling cells.
SELF-HEATING COMPRESS FOR MOIST HEAT DELIVERY
A system for delivering thermal therapy to a treated body portion of a subject. The system preferably includes a therapy compress having at least one pocket or retainer, and at least one self-heating element configured for removable insertion within the at least one pocket of the therapy compress. In some example embodiments the therapy compress is in the form of an eye mask having first and second eye-covering lobes, each eye-covering lobe having a pocket for receiving a self-heating element. In some example embodiments the at least one self-heating element is air or oxygen activated, for example including a zinc-based self-heating material.
