CRYOSPLINT
Cryosplint. In some embodiments, a cryosplint may include a vacuum splint and a cold pack. The vacuum splint may be configured to be wrapped around a body part of a patient and then have air evacuated therefrom in order to stabilize the body part. The cold pack may be configured to be attached to the vacuum splint in order to provide application of cold to the body part simultaneous to the vacuum splint stabilizing the body part.
Simultaneous Thermal and Cooling Therapeutic Device
A therapeutic device combines both hot and cold therapy to work simultaneously together. The therapeutic device has a first portion being made of a material capable of being heated to a first temperature and a second portion having a fastener capable of connecting to a cold pack having a second temperature. The application of both hot and cold to the site of an injury of a user stimulates blood circulation to an injured muscle with heat and reduces inflammation with cold to facilitate a faster and more efficient recovery process of the afflicted area.
Simultaneous thermal and cooling therapeutic device having a removable flexible receptacle
A therapeutic device having a first removable pack having a first temperature, a second removable pack having a second temperature, a flexible receptacle having a first compartment and a pocket. The first compartment of the flexible receptacle is configured to receive the first removable pack. The pocket is connected to the outer wall surface of the flexible receptacle and forms a second compartment configured to receive the second removable pack through a first opening of the pocket. The therapeutic device combines both hot and cold therapy to work simultaneously together. The application of both hot and cold to the site of an injury of a user stimulates blood circulation to an injured muscle with heat and reduces inflammation with cold to facilitate a faster and more efficient recovery process of the afflicted area.
ICE THERAPY METHOD AND APPARATUS
A method of using an ice therapy machine involves replacing water with windshield washer fluid containing ethanol or ethylene glycol, and placing the main unit of the ice therapy machine, including the ice chest and pump, in a freezer to prevent the ice in the ice chest from melting. The freezer has been modified to include openings for passage of the fluid-circulating tubes of the ice therapy machine, and an opening for the power cord of the ice therapy machine, which supplies power to the pump. Alternatively, the door of the freezer may be replaced by an insulated panel having openings for the coolant circulating tubes and power cord. An on/off switch may be installed in the power cord so that the pump can be turned on and off without having to open the freezer door.
Chemical body warmer
It is an object of the present invention to provide a chemical body warmer that achieves a sufficient heating effect even in a low-temperature environment at about 10? C. or less. A chemical body warmer including a flat housing including one or a plurality of cells each containing an exothermic composition that generates heat upon contact with air, wherein a total area of the cell or the plurality of cells in a plan view of the housing is 200 cm.sup.2 or more, and the chemical body warmer is used by being placed under a blanket.
Temperature treatment apparatus
A temperature treatment apparatus includes a body made from a flexible and expandable material for attachment to a predetermined region of the human body requiring treatment with the body having a space formed therein, and a temperature radiating element shaped to be received within the space of the body and being configured to have a soft and malleable shape profile to apply temperature treatment to the predetermined region of the human body. The temperature radiating element includes an inner pouch containing a first phase change material that is able to be inserted within an outer pouch having a second phase change material, so that, upon insertion, the inner pouch is substantially encapsulated within the second phase change material of the outer pouch.
Convective device with flow control device and multiple inflatable sections
At least some aspects of the present disclose feature a flow control device to be used between two inflatable sections. The flow control device is a one-way flow control device allowing inflating medium to flow in one direction. In such embodiments, the flow control device is in an open state when a first inflatable section is inflated such that a second inflatable section is also inflated. The flow control device is in close state when the second inflatable section is inflated such that the first inflatable section is not inflated.
Head-cooling cap
A head-cooling cap for controlling swelling caused by any head injury is provided. The head-cooling cap includes a flexible, preferably adjustable cap-shaped main body with a plurality of inner cavities containing a cooling substance. The main body can be built in a three-dimensional cap shape or, alternatively, be deformable to adopt a three-dimensional cap shape. When the head-cooling cap is placed on a user's head, the cooling substance, which has been kept at an adequate cold temperature, will cool the head and control any swelling caused by a traumatic head injury. When not placed on a user's head, the head-cooling cap can be conveniently stored in a refrigerator or freezer to prepare it for further use.
Cooling pad
The invention provides a cooling pad 110 for alleviation of pain or discomfort, especially in the perineum as a result of childbirth. The pad 110 has at least one chamber 116 containing a fluid (such as saline) for cooling. There is at least one aperture 126 for allowing passage of body fluid. The aperture 126 is located inboard of the chamber 116. Aperture 126 is formed in a web 124. Cooling pad 110 may be used alone or as part of an assembly, sandwiched between cover layer 130 and peel-off backing 132, and is intended to be placed in a freezer prior to use.
THERAPEUTIC SLEEVE
A therapeutic sleeve includes a compression sleeve having an inner sheet and an outer sheet made of flexible fluid impervious material sealingly fixed together to form at least one air pocket therebetween. An inlet valve is fluidly connected to the at least one air pocket to fill the air pocket with air via a pump. The present invention further includes a liner including a sheet having an outer surface and an inner surface. At least one pocket is coupled to the outer surface. A first connector couples the inner surface of the liner to the inner sheet of the compression sleeve. A second connector is configured to removably couple the compression sleeve to itself when wrapped around a limb of an animal.
