A universal additive for fuel and lubricants contains C2-C4 alcohols, carbamide, boric acid, acrylic compounds, and water. The additive allows for more complete combustion of liquid and solid fuels, as well as reduced fuel consumption and fewer harmful emissions. In lubricating oil compositions, the additive reduces wear on the friction surfaces of engines, and also reduces fuel consumption.

Hydrogen sulfide scavenging additive composition and method of use thereof

The present invention relates to an additive composition for scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons, wherein said additive composition comprises a combination of (a) glyoxal and (b) at least one aliphatic tertiary amine or oxide treated derivative thereof, or a mixture of the aliphatic tertiary amine and the oxide treated derivative thereof. In one embodiment it also relates to a method for scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons, and in another embodiment it relates to a method of using an additive composition of the present invention for scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons. In yet another embodiment it relates to a composition for scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons comprising (A) a hydrocarbon and (B) a hydrogen sulfide scavenging additive composition of the present invention.

LOW SULPHUR FUEL BLEND OF HYDROCARBON CONTAINING FUELS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SUCH BLEND

The invention relates to a low sulphur fuel blend of a first fuel blend component containing renewable hydrocarbon component(-s) and a second fuel blend component containing hydrocarbon to form at least part of a final low sulphur fuel blend having a sulphur content of less than 0.5 wt. %, where the first fuel blend component is characterised by having the characteristics (δ.sub.d1, δ.sub.p1, δ.sub.h1)=(17-20, 6-10, 6-10); where the first fuel blend component comprises a fuel substance comprising 70% by weight of compounds having a boiling point above 220° C. and is further characterized by having the characteristics (δ.sub.d, δ.sub.p, δ.sub.h)=(17-20, 6-15,6-12) and a linker substance comprising one or more sulphur containing solvents characterised by having the characteristics (δ.sub.d3, δ.sub.p3, δ.sub.h3)=(17-20, 3-6, 4-6); where the fuel substance is present in the first fuel blend component in a relative amount of 90-99.5 wt. %, and the linker substance is present in the first fuel blend component in a relative amount of 0.5 to 10 wt. %; where the second fuel blend component is characterised by having the characteristics (δ.sub.d2, δ.sub.p2, δ.sub.h2) -(17-20, 3-5, 4-7) and selected from the group of ultra low sulfur fuel oils (ULSFO) such as RMG 180, low sulphur fuel oil, marine gas oil, marine diesel oil, vacuum gas oil, and combinations thereof, where the first fuel blend component is present in the final low sulphur fuel blend in a relative amount of up to 80 wt. %.

A fuel or fuel blending agent for an internal combustion engine includes a ketone compound that is a C.sub.4 to C.sub.10 branched acyclic ketone, cyclopentanone, or a derivative of cyclopentanone. The ketone compound may be blended with a majority portion of a fuel selected from the group consisting of: gasoline, diesel, alcohol fuel, biofuel, renewable fuel, Fischer-Tropsch fuel, or combinations thereof. The ketone compound may be derived from biological sources. A method for powering an internal combustion engine with a fuel comprising the ketone compound is also provided.
