ASSOCIATIVE POLYMERS TO CONTROL FORMATION OF PARTICULATE MATTER FROM IGNITABLE COMPOSITIONS AND RELATED COMPOSITIONS, METHODS AND SYSTEMS
Described herein are associative polymers capable of controlling formation of particulate matter from a non-polar ignitable composition upon ignition of the non-polar ignitable composition, alone or in combination with control of a physical and/or chemical property of the non-polar compositions and related compositions, methods and systems. Associative polymers herein described have a non-polar backbone and functional groups presented at ends of the non-polar backbone, with a number of the functional groups presented at the ends of the non-polar backbone formed by associative functional groups capable of undergoing an associative interaction with another associative functional group with an association constant (k) such that the strength of each associative interaction is less than the strength of a covalent bond between atoms and in particular less than the strength of a covalent bond between backbone atoms.

LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION
The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition including a viscosity index improver (A) containing a comb-shaped polymer and having an SSI (shear stability index) of 30 or less together with a base oil, wherein an HTHS viscosity (high temperature high shear viscosity) at 150 C. (T.sub.150) is 1.6 to 2.9 mPa.Math.s, and a ratio of a kinematic viscosity at 40 C. (V.sub.40) [mm.sup.2/s] to the HTHS viscosity at 150 C. (T.sub.150) [mPa.Math.s] (V.sub.40/T.sub.150) is 12.4 or less. The lubricating oil composition of the present invention is excellent in fuel consumption reducing properties in a low-temperature region assuming the time of starting an engine while making various properties, such as a viscosity, etc., in a high-temperature region assuming the time of high-speed operation of an engine favorable.

Associative polymers herein described have a non-polar backbone with a longest span having a molecular weight that remains substantially unchanged under the flow conditions and functional groups presented at ends of the non-polar backbone, with a number of the functional groups presented at the ends of the non-polar backbone formed by associative functional groups capable of undergoing an associative interaction with another associative functional group with an association constant (k) such that the strength of each associative interaction is less than the strength of a covalent bond between atoms and in particular less than the strength of a covalent bond between backbone atoms.
Composition of additives comprising a copolymer and a resin
The present invention relates to a composition of additives comprising: at least one first compound selected from: (i) copolymers of ethylene and vinyl acetate having a molar mass Mn included in the range ranging from 10,000 to 60,000 g.Math.mol1, optionally grafted by at least one alkyl (meth)acrylate group, the alkyl chain of which is saturated and contains from 12 to 30 carbon atoms; and (ii) polymers comprising at least 90 mol % of units derived from alkyl. (meth)acrylate monomer, the alkyl chain of which is saturated and contains from 18 to 22 carbon atoms; and at least one second compound selected from the modified alkylphenol-aldehyde resins. The invention also relates to the use of this composition of additives for lowering the viscosity of a liquid petroleum product such as a crude oil and for reducing the deposition of paraffins.
Use Of Compounds Revealing The Efficiency Of Filterability Additives In Hydrocarbon Distillates, And Synergic Composition Containing Same
The invention relates to the use, in a hydrocarbon distillate with a boiling temperature of between 150 and 450 C. and a crystallization onset temperature as measured by Differential Calorimetric Analysis of greater than or equal to 50 C., preferably of 5 C. to +10 C., of a homopolymer obtained from an olefinic ester of carboxylic acid of 3 to 12 carbon atoms and from a fatty alcohol containing a chain of more than 16 carbon atoms and optionally an olefinic double bond, as a compound for revealing the efficiency of filterability additives based on copolymer and/or terpolymers of ethylene and of vinyl ester of a carboxylic acid of 3 to 12 carbon atoms, and of a monoalcohol containing 1 to 10 carbon atoms. The invention is also directed to an additive composition comprising a conventional hydrocarbon filterability additive in combination with an efficiency reveal additive, and also to the combustion fuels, motor fuel and oil fuel that comprise these additive combinations.
