Thermally Assisted Therapeutic Aids For Cosmetics And Wound Treatment
A permeable layer associated relative to a phase change material associated relative to a securing fabric layer. The permeable layer retains a therapeutic or cosmetic agent to be transferred, in whole or in part, to the user's skin. The phase change material may be dissolved within a thermoplastic matrix or situated within a suitable container. This invention provides the novelty of a phase change material, coupled with a permeable layer and a fabric layer, which work in conjunction with a therapeutic or cosmetic agent.

An oral device includes an intraoral bolus simulator comprising an exterior surface and having an interior volume Tillable with a fluid. An extraoral user interface extends from the bolus simulator, and can be used to locate or position the intraoral bolus simulator. In various embodiments, the fluid may be a gas or a liquid, or combinations thereof. In other embodiments, an oral device includes an extraoral handle, a shield connected to the handle, a tether extending from the shield, and a bolus simulator connected to the tether.
NONINVASIVE, REGIONAL BRAIN THERMAL STIMULI FOR THE TREATMENT OF MIGRAINE
Methods, systems and devices for treating headaches, including migraines. In some variations these methods may include enhancing sleep, including enhancing the quality of sleep, reducing sleep onset time, increasing total sleep time, treating insomnia, and/or treating other neurological disorders by non-invasive temperature regulation of the frontal cortex prior to and/or during sleep.
ICE PACKS, HEATING PADS, COOLERS, AND ICE PACK CARRIERS WITH AN EXTERNAL SURFACE COATED WITH A COATING CONTAINING AN ANTIMICROBIAL AGENT
An ice pack comprises a plastic sac with an external surface, the plastic sac forming an interior chamber, a substance within the interior chamber capable of absorbing thermal energy, and a coating, which contains one or more antimicrobial agents, on the external surface. The substance can comprise water, including polymer beads mixed with the water. The one or more antimicrobial agents can include a quaternary ammonium ion or salt thereof, such as a silane quaternary ammonium ion or salt thereof. The silane quaternary ammonium ion or salt thereof can be 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium ion, 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride, 3-(trihydroxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium ion, or 3-(trihydroxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride. Instead of an ice pack, the apparatus comprising the coating containing one or more antimicrobial agents can be an object that is used around injured people and/or perishable items such as heating pads, coolers, and ice pack carriers.
Thermoelectric contrast therapy device
This disclosure provides an apparatus for a thermoelectric (TE) contrast therapy device and related methods. The thermoelectric contrast therapy device includes a control node (610) and a plurality of thermoelectric nodes (605). The control node electrically and mechanically connected to the plurality of thermoelectric nodes, the control node configured to direct the heating and cooling functions as well as timing functions. Each of thermoelectric nodes includes a thermoelectric module (105) structured with a supply side (115) and a waste side (120), a phase change material (110), a reservoir (725), a thermal sink (320), a spreader (125) and a controller (1010). The thermoelectric contrast therapy device pre-charges (1105) the PCM contained in the reservoir; provides (910) opposite heating and cooling functions using the supply side and the waste side of the thermoelectric module; and directs, using the controller, the heating and cooling functions as well as timing functions.
REUSABLE WARMING BLANKET WITH PHASE CHANGE MATERIAL
A warming device may include a batting layer having a phase change material. The batting layer may have a patient side and an upper side. A hot melt fabric adhesive may be applied to the patient side and upper side of the batting. A first fabric layer may be adhered to the hot melt fabric on the patient side of the batting. The first fabric layer may have a phase change material integrated coating. An insulation layer may be adhered to the hot melt fabric on the upper side of the batting. A second fabric layer may be coupled to the insulation layer.
WATER BASED THERMAL COOLING GELS COMPRISING A VISCOSITY MODIFIER AND ICE NUCLEATING PROTEIN
Thermal cooling gel and cold packs enclosing such thermal cooling gel have an aqueous gel of 1% to 10% wt/wt of cellulose, 0.5 g/L to 2 g/L of an ice nucleating protein, and a biocide. The enthalpy of the thermal cooling gel is in a range of 250 J/g to 330 J/g.
HOT/COLD TEMPERATURE TREATMENT APPARATUS
Packs for providing heat or cold to a body part or parts. In some embodiments, packs comprising an outer flexible shell or skin housing or carrying a plurality of beads mixed in combination with a liquid or gel. In some embodiments, packs, which can be (or are) configured into various shapes, which contain heads in combination with a liquid or gel solution, which can be heated or cooled for application, thereafter, to a body part for providing hot or cold therapy to the body part.
Therapeutic thermal compress with phase-change material
A therapeutic device such as an eye mask or compress for delivery of moist heat therapy to a body part such as an eye of a human or animal subject. Example devices are configured to be worn with one or more eye coverage portions positioned over the subject's eye(s). The eye coverage portions have a front side configured for placement against the treated body part, and a back side opposite the front side. The eye coverage portions include recesses or retracted sections configured to be positioned over the wearer's cornea area. The shell of the eye coverage portions may further incorporate antimicrobial properties. Heat transfer mediums or fill materials can include hydrophilic zeolite, silica gel, and/or one or more phase change materials so as to provide controlled performance characteristics.
THERMAL TREATMENT DEVICES
A temperature management device for warming or cooling a person's body includes a device body, which has a fluid conduit for flowing fluid through the device body. The device body includes a contact surface to face and contact the person's body on which the device body is applied and is configured to conform to the person's body wherein the contact surface contacts the person's body and follows a surface topography of the person's body, and further provides a thermally conductive surface for transmitting thermal energy from the fluid flowing through the fluid conduit to the person's body.
