Corrosion inhibitors for fuels and lubricants
The present invention relates to novel uses of corrosion inhibitors in fuels and lubricants.
Method for the production of fuel oil
A method making fuel oil from refining residuals. Refining residuals are mixed with a diluent and an additive. Preferred diluents include diesel and reformed naphtha and combinations thereof. The additive is believed to be a cross-linked cyclic anhydride copolymer having an intrinsic viscosity (limiting viscosity, ) of between about 0.10 and 3.0 deciliters per gram and an average molecular weight between about 3,000 and 3,000,000. The additive includes excess aromatic hydrocarbons and a surfactant. In the preferred embodiment, the diluent and the residuals are mixed together in a ratio of about 3:1, by weight. The additive is introduced to this mixture in the amount of about 0.10 to 0.25 percent by weight. The components are thoroughly combined to yield a fuel oil having a viscosity that is about 25 to as much as about 70 percent lower than the viscosity of the same residual/diluent mixture lacking the additive.
ULTRA-LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT IMIDE CONTAINING QUATERNARY AMMONIUM SALTS HAVING SHORT HYDROCARBON TAILS
The present technology is related to imide containing quaternary ammonium salts having a hydrocarbyl substituent of number average molecular weight less 300, and additive packages having such quaternary ammonium salts and improved stability.
CORROSION INHIBITORS FOR FUELS AND LUBRICANTS
The present invention relates to novel uses of corrosion inhibitors in fuels and lubricants.
METHOD FOR REDUCING LOW SPEED PRE-IGNITION
Use of an unleaded gasoline fuel composition for reducing the occurrence of Low Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI) in a spark-ignition internal combustion engine, wherein the unleaded gasoline fuel composition comprises a gasoline base fuel and detergent additive package, wherein the detergent additive package comprises a Mannich base detergent mixture, wherein the mixture comprises a first Mannich base detergent component derived from a di- or polyamine and a second Mannich base detergent component derived from a monoamine, wherein the weight ratio of the first Mannich base detergent to the second Mannich base detergent mixture ranges from about 1:6 to about 3:1, and wherein the spark-ignition internal combustion engine is lubricated with a lubricant composition comprising from 1200 ppmw to 3000 ppmw of calcium, based on the total lubricant composition.
Dispersions Of Polymeric Oil Additives
The invention provides dispersions comprising I) at least one oil-soluble polymer effective as a cold flow improver for mineral oils, II) at least one organic, water-immiscible solvent, III) a dispersant comprising, based on the total amount of dispersant, a) 10-90% by weight of a salt of an ethercarboxylic acid and b) 90-10% by weight of a nonionic surfactant, IV) water and V) at least one organic, water-miscible solvent.
Fuel Additive Compositions, and Method of Use Thereof
The present invention relates to a fuel additive composition for controlling formation of deposits and for reducing already formed deposits formed in a fuel injection system and engine, or in an internal combustion engine, wherein the fuel additive composition comprises oxide derivative of (a) iso-borneol or (b) borneol, and to a method of use thereof. In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a fuel additive composition for controlling formation of deposits and for reducing already formed deposits formed in a fuel injection system and engine, or in an internal combustion engine, wherein the fuel additive composition comprises (a) iso-borneol or (b) borneol, and to a method of use thereof. In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a fuel additive composition for controlling formation of deposits and for reducing already formed deposits formed in a fuel injection system and engine, or in an internal combustion engine, wherein the fuel additive composition comprises a mixture of oxirane or an oxide compound with (a) iso-borneol or (b) borneol, and to a method of use thereof. In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a composition comprising a fuel and the fuel additive composition of the present invention.
