Therapeutic eye pod system

An orbital temperature treatment kit has a new container base, hinged cover and handle. An inner partition in the base is a mount for electrical features and a heat exchanger with transfer fins and a heat sink. The inner partition has recesses for temperature change of pods held in spaces between parallel fins. The frame for holding the pods in place for treatment has two large lenses, a nose piece joining the lenses and hinged temples. The lenses support slotted receivers with fasteners that engage fasteners on tabs attached to the pods.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DISSIPATING THERMAL LOADS IN WEARABLE DEVICES

Systems and methods for manipulating the temperature of a surface are described. Described embodiments include thermal adjustment devices that may include a heatsink and that are operated in two or more modes of operation to apply a desired temperature to a user. In one operating mode the thermal adjustment device may apply a first temperature to an underlying surface while generating heat at a rate faster than the heatsink's heat dissipation rate. The thermal adjustment device may then apply a second temperature to reduce the rate of heat generation to be less than the heatsink's heat dissipation rate. These modes of operation may be applied cyclically to permit continuous operation of the thermal adjustment device. In some embodiments, the temperature profile applied when changing between the modes of operation may be selected such that the user experiences either a reduced, or substantially, neutral thermal sensation.

WEARABLE THERMAL DEVICES AND METHODS OF USING THEM

Described herein are forehead-mounted temperature regulation apparatuses and methods of using them. These apparatuses may be used for improving sleep. Also described herein are methods of improving sleep using these apparatuses.

Therapeutic wrap

The subject matter of the invention relates to therapy wraps for the application of compression and/or thermal therapy to a patient. The wraps are formed of at least two layers of material which are sealed together to form at least one cavity between them. The wraps may be used in conjunction with a therapy machine which fills the cavity or cavities of the wraps with fluid such as a gas and/or a liquid. The unique shapes of the wraps are particularly suitable for providing therapy to the human body. The shapes permit the manipulation of the wraps around various portions of the human body such as the shoulder, back and foot.

HEATING DEVICE

A heating device includes: a temperature change unit that changes a temperature of a temperature change area; an induction unit that applies a stimulus to an induction area; and a controller, wherein the induction area is an area on skin surface, or an area that occupies a space that can be perspectively projected on the skin surface, the induction area is an area that does not overlap with the temperature change area, the induction unit applies at least one of a tactile stimulus and a visual stimulus to the induction area, the controller executes a first control for changing a temperature of a first temperature change area of the temperature change area and a second control for applying a stimulus to a first induction area of the induction area, and the second control is performed in accordance with the first control.

METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR MANIPULATING TEMPERATURE

Methods and apparatuses for manipulating the temperature of a surface are provided. Devices of the present disclosure may include a thermal adjustment apparatus, such as a controller in electrical communication with one or more thermoelectric materials, placed adjacent to the surface of skin. The device may generate a series of thermal pulses at the surface, for providing an enhanced thermal sensation for a user. The thermal pulses may be characterized by temperature reversibility, where each pulse includes an initial temperature adjustment, followed by a return temperature adjustment, over a short period of time (e.g., less than 120 seconds). The average rate of temperature change upon initiation and upon return may be between about 0.1 C./sec and about 10.0 C./sec. In some cases, the average rate of the initial temperature adjustment is greater in magnitude than the average rate of the return temperature adjustment.

TWO-POINT AND MULTIPLE-POINT SPOT HEATING AND COOLING

Apparatus and methods for producing thermal comfort using two point or multipoint heating or cooling that is applied to portion of a human body part to produce a warm or cool sensation over a larger area than that where the heating or cooling is directly applied. The body is induced to heat or cool itself by adjusting its neutral temperature setpoints. Increased warming perception from two-point, multipoint, and switching point stimulation causes downward adaptation in the neutral skin temperature of the user. Because spot heating and cooling sources operate at higher temperature differences from the skin than do area sources, they create a stronger perceived thermal sensation for the same power consumption. Point heating or cooling, rather than whole-area heating, can result in power savings and cost savings while improving occupant comfort.
