Heating and cooling device
A heating and/or cooling device for contact with a human body is provided having a power source outputting electrical energy, a temperature controller operably coupled to the power source configured to maintain a predetermined temperature parameter, and at least one heating and/or cooling module operably coupled to the temperature controller for selectively receiving the electrical energy and being responsive thereto to heat and/or cool the human body. The at least one heating and/or cooling module having a pair of electrodes spaced apart by a thermoelectric powder and an insulator at least partially surrounding the thermoelectric powder.
Wound care method and system with one or both of vacuum-light therapy and thermally augmented oxygenation
A combination therapy pad that includes a first layer and a second layer operatively coupled to the first layer. A fiber-optic array is disposed between the first layer and the second layer. A third layer is operatively coupled to the first layer. The third layer includes a vacuum tube in fluid communication with a vacuum source and a therapeutic fluid tube in fluid communication with a therapeutic fluid source. The third layer provides at least one of vacuum therapy and therapeutic fluid treatment to a wound area.
Cooling devices for providing cooling therapy to the body
A cooling device includes a package substrate, a plurality of cooling units, and device electronics. The plurality of cooling units are configured to cool a user's body. Each cooling unit includes a plurality of semiconductor cooling elements sandwiched between a first cooling unit substrate and a second cooling unit substrate. Each of the cooling units is connected to the package substrate. The device electronics are coupled to the cooling units. The device electronics are configured to store a first cooling device profile that includes data indicating an amount of power to deliver to each of the cooling units over a period of time. The device electronics are configured to deliver power to the cooling units according to the first cooling device profile, wirelessly receive a second cooling device profile from an external computing device, and deliver power to the cooling units according to the second cooling device profile.
Thermal therapy device with interchangeable hot and cold water circulation and air pressure control
A thermal therapy device can be operated for both cold and hot water circulation by using a self-priming pump and four solenoid valves with the open/closed states selectively controlled by an MCU to pump chilled water or cold water from two different water containers to sequentially circulate through two different water paths to a water bladder for cold therapy treatment or hot therapy treatment. During the hot therapy treatment, a water heater is used to heat the cold water until a configured temperature is reached. A pneumatic pump is also employed to carry out an air pressure control mode to pump air into an air bladder securely attached on the water bladder to put pressure on the water bladder for a pressurized treatment. Water retained in the water bladder can also be evacuated and returned to the two different water containers to avoid moss generation and stinky odor.
System, methods and apparatus for delivering nerve stimulation to a patient with physician oversight
The present invention provides devices, systems and methods for delivering one or more thermal waveforms to the vestibular system and/or the nervous system of a patient. In some embodiments, the present invention provides a vestibular stimulation device configured both to generate a prescription for delivering one or more thermal waveforms and to deliver the prescribed thermal waveforms.
Aesthetic method of biological structure treatment by magnetic field
Combined methods for treating a patient using time-varying magnetic field are described. The treatment methods combine various approaches for aesthetic treatment. The methods are focused on enhancing a visual appearance of the patient.
Freezable pad for pain relief
A pad for treating a perineal area of a woman before or after childbirth includes a foam layer and a substance integrated with the foam layer. The foam layer is flexible, so that it can conform to the perineal area of the woman. The pad may optionally include a skin contact layer made of an impermeable material. The foam layer and/or the optional skin contact layer may include openings, such as perforations or slits. A method of using the pad may involve placing the pad in the perineal area before or after childbirth. The pad may be frozen, cooled or heated before use, in different embodiments.
HEAT CONDUCTION DEVICE
A heat conduction device includes a heat source portion, a temperature control surface, and heat transfer portions. The heat source portion is configured to generate at least hot heat or cold heat. The temperature control surface is sectioned into a plurality of temperature control sections, and at least some of the plurality of temperature control sections are disposed away from the heat source portion. The plurality of heat transfer portions connect the heat source portion and the plurality of the temperature control sections to transfer heat between the heat source portion and the plurality of temperature control sections. The plurality of temperature control sections are separated from each other based on a distance from the heat source portion.
A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR NEUROPATHY DIAGNOSIS WITH WIRELESS FEEDBACK MECHANISM
The various embodiments herein disclose a method and a system with a portable handheld diagnostic device for detecting and/or monitoring the prognosis of nerve impairment or diabetic peripheral neuropathy. The system provides a multi-parameter diabetic neuropathy-screening device to perform a combination of tactile threshold test, vibration threshold test, thermal threshold test and contactless skin-temperature measurement. The present invention provides a smartphone application that helps a user to operate/control the device, store and share the results. The smartphone application interacts with the hardware modules in the device and guides the user to perform the various tests. Further, the neuropathy diagnostic system provides a wireless feedback button that enables the subject to respond to various sensations during the course of the test.
