20180161200 · 2018-06-14 ·

The subject matter of the invention relates to therapy wraps for the application of compression and/or thermal therapy to a patient. The wraps are formed of at least two layers of material which are sealed together to form at least one cavity between them. The wraps may be used in conjunction with a therapy machine which fills the cavity or cavities of the wraps with fluid such as a gas and/or a liquid. The unique shapes of the wraps are particularly suitable for providing therapy to the human body. The shapes permit the manipulation of the wraps around various portions of the human body such as the shoulder, back and foot.

THERMAL THERAPY DEVICE WITH INTERCHANGEABLE HOT AND COLD WATER CIRCULATION AND AIR PRESSURE CONTROL
20180161199 · 2018-06-14 ·

A thermal therapy device can be operated for both cold and hot water circulation by using a self-priming pump and four solenoid valves with the open/closed states selectively controlled by an MCU to pump chilled water or cold water from two different water containers to sequentially circulate through two different water paths to a water bladder for cold therapy treatment or hot therapy treatment. During the hot therapy treatment, a water heater is used to heat the cold water until a configured temperature is reached. A pneumatic pump is also employed to carry out an air pressure control mode to pump air into an air bladder securely attached on the water bladder to put pressure on the water bladder for a pressurized treatment. Water retained in the water bladder can also be evacuated and returned to the two different water containers to avoid moss generation and stinky odor.

Tongue stimulation for communication of information to a user

Example devices and methods of tongue stimulation for communication of information to a user are disclosed herein. In an example, a tongue stimulation device may include a body configured to be placed entirely within a mouth of the user and atop the tongue of the user. An array of electro-tactile elements may be distributed on the body, wherein each of the electro-tactile elements is configured to stimulate an area of the tongue adjacent the electro-tactile element. A wireless receiver coupled to the body may be configured to receive stimulation information wirelessly from outside the mouth of the user. At least one processing unit coupled to the body may be configured to transform the received stimulation information into a stimulation signal for each of the electro-tactile elements, and to provide the stimulation signals to the electro-tactile elements.

TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED BLANKET
20180153738 · 2018-06-07 ·

A temperature controlled blanket for providing dual warming and cooling zones. The temperature controlled blanket comprises a first layer of material, a second layer of material, and a seam, wherein the seam is disposed along a longitudinal axis of each layer of material, such that the seam defines a first portion and a second portion of the blanket. The first portion and the second portion each contain a panel comprising heating and cooling elements disposed between the first layer of material and second layer of material. The blanket further comprises at least one thermostat operably connected to each panel of the first portion and the second portion and a power source, wherein the at least one thermostat individually controls the heating and cooling elements of each panel. In an alternative embodiment, the first portion and the second portion of the second layer of material are made of two differing fabrics.
