Quaternary ammonium amide and/or ester salts
The invention relates to quaternary ammonium amide and/or ester salts and their use as additives, including their use in fuels, such as diesel fuel. The invention particularly relates to the use of quaternary ammonium amide and/or ester salts as detergents in diesel fuels.
LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT AMIDE/ESTER CONTAINING QUATERNARY AMMONIUM SALTS
The present technology is related to amide or ester containing quaternary ammonium salts having a hydrocarbyl substituent of number average molecular weight ranging from 300 to 750, and the use of such quaternary ammonium salts in fuel compositions to improve the water shedding performance of the fuel composition.
Mixed detergent composition for intake valve deposit control
A detergent additive package, fuel additive concentrate, fuel composition and method for operating an engine on an unleaded gasoline fuel. The additive package includes a Mannich base detergent mixture, wherein the mixture contains a first Mannich base detergent component derived from a di- or polyamine and a second Mannich base detergent component derived from a monoamine. A weight ratio of the first Mannich base detergent to the second Mannich base detergent in the mixture ranges from about 1:6 to about 3:1.
QUATERNARY AMMONIUM COMPOUNDS AS FUEL OR LUBRICANT ADDITIVES
A quaternary ammonium compound of formula (X):
##STR00001## wherein R.sup.0, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 is each individually an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group and R includes an optionally substituted hydrocarbyl moiety having at least 5 carbon atoms.
DIESEL ADDITIVE, PREPARATION METHOD AND USAGE METHOD THEREOF
The present invention relates to a fuel additive. The fuel additive comprises 70-90 wt. % of a nonylphenol polyether amine, 10-30 wt. % of a multi-amido polyisobutylene amine, and 0-20 wt. % of an auxiliary additive based on the total weight of the fuel additive. The fuel additive provided by the present disclosure is able to effectively remove carbon deposits at a gas intake valve and a combustion chamber of a fuel engine.
Additive compositions and to fuel oils
An additive composition containing a polymer (A) and an anti-static additive (B). The polymer (A) has the following monomer components: (i) one or more compounds of formula (I) ##STR00001##
wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or CH.sub.3; and R.sub.2 is a hydrocarbon group having 6 to 30 carbon atoms and is a straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group, or an aliphatic or aromatic cyclic group;

wherein R.sub.1 has the meaning above and wherein R.sub.3 is hydrogen or C.sub.1-C.sub.22 alkyl; each R.sub.4 is independently hydrogen or C.sub.1-C.sub.22 alkyl; R.sub.5 is hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic or aromatic cyclic group, or a substituted or unsubstituted straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group having 1 to 22 carbon atoms; n=0 or an integer from 1 to 22; and m is an integer from 1 to 30; and
(iii) one or more compounds of formula (III) ##STR00003##
wherein R.sub.6, R.sub.7, R.sub.8, R.sub.9 and R.sub.10 are each independently hydrogen, a straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms which may be substituted or unsubstituted, hydroxyl, NH.sub.2, or wherein two or more of R.sub.6, R.sub.7, R.sub.8, R.sub.9 and R.sub.10 may together form an aliphatic or aromatic ring system, which ring system may be substituted or unsubstituted. The anti-static additive (B) is (iv) an olefin polysulfone and (v) a polymeric polyamine reaction product of epichlorohydrin and an aliphatic primary monoamine or an N-aliphatic hydrocarbyl alkylene diamine, or the sulfonic acid salt of the polymeric polyamine reaction product. The weight:weight ratio of the polymer (A) to the anti-static additive (B) in the additive composition is from about 1:1 to about 500:1.
FUEL COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING DETERGENTS DERIVED FROM ETHYLENE-ALPHA OLEFIN COPOLYMERS
A fuel composition including a fuel and a fuel additive including a fuel soluble detergent selected from succinimide compounds of the Formula (I), Mannich detergents of the formulae (IIa), and amine detergents of the formulae (IIIa) and (IIIb). The fuel soluble detergents are derived from a specific class of ethylene-alpha olefin copolymers having an Mn of less than 5,000 g/mol, an ethylene unit content of more than 40 mol % to less than 90 mol %; a terminal unsaturation of 70 mol % or greater; at least 70 mol % of the unsaturation is terminal vinylidene, one or more tri-substituted isomers of the terminal vinylidene or any combination thereof, an average ethylene run length of less than 2.6; and wherein n.sub.C2,Actual>n.sub.C2,Statistical. Methods employing the fuel compositions for operating diesel and gasoline engines to reduce injector valve deposits, valve sticking and injector nozzle fouling, and a method for stabilizing a diesel fuel composition.
LUBRICANT COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING OLEFIN COPOLYMER DISPERSANTS IN COMBINATION WITH ADDITIVES
Lubricating oil compositions including olefin copolymer dispersants comprising olefin copolymers derived from ethylene and one or more C.sub.3-C.sub.10 alpha olefins in combination with various additives and related methods are generally described herein. The compositions may include one or more phosphorus-containing compound(s), detergents, friction modifiers, extreme pressure agents, and mixtures thereof.
SUBSTITUTED MANNICH BASE FUEL ADDITIVES, COMPOSITIONS, AND METHODS
Mannich base compositions include the reaction products of (1) an amine component including at least one multifunctional amine of structure (1):

wherein each R is independently H or CH.sub.2CH.sub.2CH.sub.2NH.sub.2; R.sub.1 is H, CH.sub.2CH.sub.2CH.sub.2NH.sub.2, C1-C21 alkyl, or C2-C21 alkenyl; n is 2; and m is 1 or 2, with (2) an alkyl substituted hydroxyaromatic compound, and (3) and aldehyde. The Mannich base compositions are useful for fuel additives and other articles. Additive compositions, fuel additives, fuel compositions and methods for reducing deposit formations in a fuel system are also disclosed.
Lubricity additives for fuels
Fuel additive compositions that include synergistic mixtures of one or more neutral lubricity additives and one or more monoacidic lubricity additives to provide wear and/or friction reduction in fuels.
