Applicator with internal chambers for dispensing therapeutic fluids
11571556 · 2023-02-07 · ·

An applicator has a stem, one or more tips, and one or more chambers which may hold therapeutic or medicinal fluids. The applicator may be separated into two sections so the tips can be used independently. The fluids held in the chambers may be separated with one or more frangible walls which can be broken to release or mix the fluids. The tips are used as applicators for the therapeutic or medicinal effects produced by the fluids or the medicines contained in the cavity.

ICE PACKS, HEATING PADS, COOLERS, AND ICE PACK CARRIERS WITH AN EXTERNAL SURFACE COATED WITH A COATING CONTAINING AN ANTIMICROBIAL AGENT
20220347011 · 2022-11-03 · ·

An ice pack comprises a plastic sac with an external surface, the plastic sac forming an interior chamber, a substance within the interior chamber capable of absorbing thermal energy, and a coating, which contains one or more antimicrobial agents, on the external surface. The substance can comprise water, including polymer beads mixed with the water. The one or more antimicrobial agents can include a quaternary ammonium ion or salt thereof, such as a silane quaternary ammonium ion or salt thereof. The silane quaternary ammonium ion or salt thereof can be 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium ion, 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride, 3-(trihydroxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium ion, or 3-(trihydroxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride. Instead of an ice pack, the apparatus comprising the coating containing one or more antimicrobial agents can be an object that is used around injured people and/or perishable items such as heating pads, coolers, and ice pack carriers.

Temperature variant stockings

Temperature variant compression stockings are three-in-one stockings that address needs both in the sports world and the medical field. The temperature variant stockings may help cool the skin while exerting a desired compressive force; another version of the temperature variant stockings may actually retain heat while also exerting a desired compressive force. The stockings are available where the temperature variant components are in contact with the user's skin while the compression yarns are knitted onto the outside of the stocking. A style is also available with alternating strips, with either the cooling yarns or the heat retaining yarns running vertically and parallel to strips of compression yarns. Antimicrobial particles are infused into the cooling or heating yarns to guard again infections.

A securing device is shown and describe for positioning on a user's head. The securing device may be used to couple or attach an insert to the user's head in a desired position.

HYPOTHERMIC TREATMENT SACK
20230157865 · 2023-05-25 ·

Hypothermic treatment sacks are provided. A hypothermic treatment sack includes a top sheet that defines a first outer perimeter. The hypothermic treatment sack further includes a bottom sheet that defines a second outer perimeter. The first outer perimeter of the top sheet is removably coupled to the second outer perimeter of the bottom sheet such that a patient receiving cavity is defined between the top sheet and the bottom sheet. The top sheet and the bottom sheet include a weather resistant external layer, a heat reflective interior layer, and an insulation layer. The insulation layer is disposed between the external layer and the heat reflective interior layer.

MEDICAL DEVICES FOR GENERATING HEAT AND METHODS OF TREATMENT USING SAME
20230113373 · 2023-04-13 ·

A device comprising a heat-generating component that comprises an alkali metal is provided. The alkali metal in the presence of water at a point of contact of the device undergoes an exothermic reaction to generate heat in situ. The amount of heat generated is proportional to and/or limited by the amount (or moles) of water at the point of contact, and the heat generated is sufficient to achieve an increase in temperature at the point of contact to achieve a therapeutic or beneficial result. In one embodiment, the device is used for reducing sweat production in a subject suffering from excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis. In other embodiments, the device is used to substantially sterilize a surface or render a surface substantially aseptic.
