HEAT PACK WITH SUPERCOOLED AQUEOUS SALT SOLUTION AND GLYCERIN
A heat pack using supercooled aqueous salt solution that resists premature activation at low temperatures is disclosed. The heat pack comprises two sheets that are bonded together to form a laminated sheet. The heat pack has a first and second compartment. A frangible seal separates the two compartments. One of the compartments contains a supercooled aqueous salt solution. The salt solution contains 15 to 25 percent glycerin by mass.

CHEMICAL BODY WARMER
It is an object of the present invention to provide a chemical body warmer that achieves a sufficient heating effect even in a low-temperature environment at about 10° C. or less. A chemical body warmer including a flat housing including one or a plurality of cells each containing an exothermic composition that generates heat upon contact with air, wherein a total area of the cell or the plurality of cells in a plan view of the housing is 200 cm.sup.2 or more, and the chemical body warmer is used by being placed under a blanket.
Modular physio tape with thermal properties
A modular kinesiology or physio tape adapted to produce heating or cooling. The tape includes a layer of material having a chamber for retention and release of a removable packet of cooling or heating material and a mechanism for securing the layer directly onto skin of a user. The removable packet of cooling or heating material has dimensions optimized for manual insertion into and removal from the chamber. Preferably, the material is flexible and includes an adhesive for securing the layer to the skin. The material has a first surface for contacting skin, a second surface parallel to the first surface for receiving and retaining the removable packet and an edge between the first and second surfaces. In one embodiment, multiple slits are provided in the second surface having dimensions adapted to receive and retain said packet. In yet another embodiment, a heating packet is implemented with a button/coin type battery circuit with an optional mechanism for controlling the generation of heat thereby.
CONFORMABLE THERMAL THERAPEUTIC DRESSING WITH MEDICAL INTERVENTION AND/OR SENSING CAPABILITIES
Thermal dressings consist of conformable containment pack to be placed on or wrapped around a part of the body providing thermal therapeutics with or without; sensing as a diagnostic tool and/or medical intervention material. Containment pack has an inner layer closest to the skin and an outer layer furthest from the skin; containment pack has at least one volume deflector configure to provide areas of positive and negative curvature when in use; inner layer positive curvature is an outward protrusion for compression directed into skin for splinting and sensor location, and the negative curvature has gap for circuitry and medical intervention material. Volume deflectors are positioned to provide contour matching portions of body covered by said containment pack; and containment pack has a preloaded first material needed to create a thermal reaction.
