Use of an alcohol hybrid to modify the rheology of polyethoxylated alcohol sulfates

In one embodiment, a polyethoxylated alcohol sulfate composition is provided which includes a polyethoxylated alcohol sulfate, such as sodium laureth ether sulfate (SLES), water, a mono-alcohol, and a polyol. The two alcohols form a synergistic blend, enabling a significant reduction of the viscosity of the polyethoxylated alcohol sulfate composition. Also provided is an embodiment of a method for modifying the rheology of polyethoxylated alcohol sulfate by use of a mono-alcohol and a polyol simultaneously. Finally provided is an embodiment of a detergent composition which is prepared by use of the polyethoxylated alcohol sulfate composition described herein, in addition to other commonly known ingredients.

A wet wiper for cleaning accumulated oral debris from removable dental appliances. The wet wiper comprises (a) a water insoluble substrate; and (b) a physiologically acceptable cleansing composition, said cleansing composition comprising: a solution of water and a flavorant, wherein said water is up to about 97% by weight of said cleansing composition; and said flavorant is about 0.001% to about 5% by weight of said cleansing composition. Methods for cleaning removable dental appliances are also provided, such methods comprising the step of contacting, for a time sufficient to reduce oral debris, the removable dental appliances, with a wet wiper of the present invention.

Cleaning Formulations for Chemically Sensitive Individuals: Compositions and Methods
20200377822 · 2020-12-03 ·

The present disclosure relates to cleaning compositions in general, and cleaning compositions that are well suited for use by individuals, who experience adverse health effects that may occur upon exposure to certain chemicals. This condition, characterized as multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS), makes it virtually impossible for certain individuals to use commercially available cleaning products without inducing immunological responses. The disclosure presents and describes protocols for the formulation and evaluation of a variety of cleaning products using a combination of .sup.14C assay, head space analysis and screening of both ingredients and final products for governmentally-regulated materials. The methods and compositions newly presented herein avoid causing adverse health responses in individuals and are suitable for use by any person, particularly individuals who experience MCS.

SURFACTANT PACKAGE FOR HIGH FOAMING DETERGENTS WITH LOW LEVEL OF MEDIUM TO LONG CHAIN LINEAR ALCOHOLS

The present invention relates to a surfactant booster for use in high foaming cleaning compositions. In an aspect of the invention, a C6, C7, C8, C9, C10, C11 or C12 linear alcohol in very low amounts is added to increase surface activity, foam and wetting properties of the composition. The alcohol is added in an amount of alcohol to surfactant of about 1:100 to 1:200 and must be linear. In another aspect, the invention relates to novel cleaning compositions such as pot and pan soaking compositions, dishwashing compositions, food and beverage foaming cleaners, vehicle cleaning and the like suitable for use in hard water, which can be solid or liquid. The invention further relates to methods of making these compositions, and to methods employing these compositions.
