The present invention relates to perfuming compositions and consumer products that contain compounds of formula ##STR00001##
in the form of any one of its stereoisomers or a mixture thereof and wherein one R represents a methyl group and the other R is a hydrogen atom. The compounds are useful as perfuming ingredients in particular to impart lily of the valley/gardenia odor notes to the composition or product.

A method of screening solvents for the solubilization of petroleum hydrocarbons is disclosed. The method includes dissolving petroleum hydrocarbons in a selected solvent to form a first solution, adding an ionic liquid to the first solution and blending to form a second solution and measuring absorbance of the second solution using spectroscopic techniques. The solubilization of petroleum hydrocarbons in the solvent is then determined based on the difference between the measured absorbance of the first and second solution. A system for screening solvents for the solubilization of petroleum hydrocarbons is also disclosed. The system can be used in removal of wax deposition in refinery process equipment, process flow lines, during piping operations, upgradation of wax, prevention of clogging of pipelines, processing of sludge or for removing sludge from petroleum tank installations and enhancing the crude oil flow.

The present invention relates to personal care compositions comprising malodor reduction compositions and methods of making and using such personal care compositions. Such personal care compositions comprising the malodor control technologies disclosed herein provide malodor control without leaving an undesireable scent and when perfume is used to scent such compositions, such scent is not unduely altered by the malodor control technology.

A water based adhesive removal composition which is effective and non-residual on magnesium and alloys comprises an alkali, a main solvent, a volatilization inhibitor, a cosolvent, a corrosion inhibitor, a penetrant, a thickening agent, a surface active agent, and water. The water based adhesive removal composition is water-based formula, the water-based formula is not easy to volatilize and is not flammable. When being used to remove adhesive attached on the magnesium alloy component, there is no risk of magnesium ignition.

The present invention relates to an antimicrobial composition and more particularly an antimicrobial composition for leave-on applications. Provided is a hexavalent chromium treatment agent capable of penetrating inside of a leather and capable of reducing not only hexavalent chromium present in the vicinity of the surface of the leather but also hexavalent chromium present inside the leather into trivalent chromium. The hexavalent chromium treatment agent of the present invention comprises a hexavalent chromium-reducing compound capable of reducing hexavalent chromium into trivalent chromium, a nonionic surfactant, and an aqueous solvent. The hexavalent chromium-reducing compound preferably comprises an organic compound (A) that has a specific structure capable of acting to reduce hexavalent chromium into trivalent chromium, that has a hydroxyphenyl group, and that has no aldehyde groups and no carboxyl groups.
