The sanitary napkin can be internal or external to the pouch. Some embodiments of the underwear are intended for single use. Other embodiments of the underwear are intended to be re-usable, in that the sanitary napkin can be replaced and/or the cooling pack(s) can be re-used. The cooling pack(s) can be sealed with one-time or reusable thermal material therein, or they can be resealable with replaceable thermal material.

Embodiments described herein relate to a reusable chemical cold pack. The apparatus includes a body which defines a chamber having two volumes separated by a thin film composite membrane. The thin film composite membrane includes a fabric material sheet, a thermoplastic polymer material sheet, and a polyamide material sheet. A first volume disposed on one side of the thin film composite membrane contains a solvent and a second volume disposed on an opposite side of the thin film composite membrane contains a solute. A check valve is disposed through the thin film composite membrane and enables mixing of the solvent and the solute. The solvent and the solute may also be separated after mixing by diffusion of the solvent through the thin film composite membrane.

A dual-function vest for keeping the body cool and providing cool drinking water. The vest has multiple ice pockets dispersed throughout an area of the vest. The ice pockets are fluidly interconnected to each through fluid channels, wherein water can flow between the multiple ice pockets. A port can be provided in the vest to provide access to an inner volume of the vest. Water can be filled into the multiple ice pockets through the port and also water can be drawn through the port.
