09615968 · 2017-04-11 ·

Hypothermic therapy headgear for patients includes a headpiece for engaging the head of the patient and a cooling member engaged to the headpiece for contacting at least one surface portion of the patient. The cooling member includes at least one cooling surface for contacting the surface portion of the patient, and at least two endothermic reaction components. The endothermic reaction components have an initial state where the endothermic reaction components are separated from contact with each other, and a treatment state in which the endothermic reaction components are placed into contact, wherein an endothermic reaction takes place and cools the cooling surface and the corresponding portion of the patient. An activation device selectively places the endothermic reaction components into the treatment state when a patient is in need of hypothermic therapy. A thermal therapy device and a method for administering thermal therapy are also disclosed.

Chemical Thermal Pack and Method

A chemical thermal pack is provided having a flexible liquid impermeable pouch, an endothermic/exothermic producing chemical, and a liquid permeable pouch. The flexible liquid impermeable pouch has a resealable closure edge and a scored tamper seal. There is one of an endothermic and an exothermic producing chemical. The liquid permeable pouch is contained within the liquid impermeable pouch and provides a cavity for containing the endothermic/exothermic producing chemical. A user breaches the scored tamper seal and inserts a fluid solvent within the liquid impermeable pouch and reseals the closure edge. The solvent is reactive with the chemical to impart one of an exothermic reaction and an endothermic reaction. A method is also provided.

LOCAL COOLING ANESTHESIA DEVICE, METHOD OF CONTROLLING LOCAL COOLING ANESTHESIA DEVICE, AND COOLING TEMPERATURE REGULATOR OF LOCAL COOLING ANESTHESIA DEVICE

Proposed is a local cooling anesthesia device for spraying a coolant on a treatment site. The local cooling anesthesia device includes a housing which forms an outward form and from which the coolant is sprayed and a spraying unit installed in the housing to spray the coolant. The device also includes a cooling temperature regulator connected to the spraying unit to apply thermal energy to the sprayed coolant for temperature regulation and a control unit connected to the cooling temperature regulator to control the cooling temperature regulator. The cooling anesthesia device has functions of measuring and regulating the temperature of the coolant, and thus can apply the coolant to the treatment site within a safe temperature range according to the purpose of treatment, thereby enabling a desired treatment purpose such as local anesthesia to be safely and rapidly accomplished without side effects such as cytoclasis.

Production of low temperature electrolytic hydrogen

In one embodiment of the present disclosure, a process for electrochemical hydrogen production is provided. The process includes providing an electrochemical cell with an anode side including an anode, a cathode side including a cathode, and a membrane separating the anode side from the cathode side. The process further includes feeding molecules of at least one gaseous reactant to the anode, oxidizing one or more molecules of the gaseous reactant at the anode to produce a gas product and protons, passing the protons through the membrane to the cathode, and reducing the protons at the cathode to form hydrogen gas.

Feminine cooling pad
09572709 · 2017-02-21 ·

A feminine cooling pad configured for cooling a vulva and/or adjacent region. The cooling pad may include a non-adhesive outer liquid permeable layer configured to be oriented toward the pubic area during use. A liquid absorbent layer forming or adjacent to the outer layer absorbs bodily fluids or discharges during use. A cooling layer adjacent to the liquid absorbent layer provides cooling for at least about 15 minutes when the cooling pad is placed adjacent to the pubic area of a woman. An optional adhesive layer adjacent to the cooling layer can adhere the feminine cooling pad to an undergarment or clothing during use and maintain the cooling pad in a desired orientation. A feminine heating pad may include a microwavable material that becomes warm or hot when placed in a microwave oven. A feminine cooling pad can operate as a heating pad when heated instead of cooled.

Stimulus generation apparatus

There is provided a stimulus generation apparatus including a stimulus generation section which provides a stimulus for promoting fat burning for fat or a satiety center inside a body cavity.

Cooling blanket for humans and animals
20170027744 · 2017-02-02 ·

A cooling blanket, singularly or in plurality, which covers the core body of humans or animals to facilitate immediate, rapid cooling through sweat evaporation and radiant heat exchange by means of an integrated ventilation system and maximum body surface contact via an incorporated cooling medium contained within multiple, sealed compartments within the embodiment.

PATIENT COMFORT PACK
20170020723 · 2017-01-26 ·

The present invention provides a device and method for delivering thermal therapy about a percutaneous access site while also permitting visual and physical examination of the access site. The device comprises a semi-circumferential shaped housing having a top wall, a bottom wall, and a side wall. The top wall, the bottom wall, and the side wall define a cavity with a fluid tight bladder disposed within the cavity. The semi-circumferential shaped housing has an aperture formed in the housing and a straight edge portion along the circumference of the housing. The device delivers thermal therapy to percutaneous arterial, venous, laparoscopic, and other access procedures sites by allowing visual and physical examination of the access site through the aperture and comfortable placement of the device's straight edge portion against a bend or joint of the patient's body.

CERVICAL COLLAR
