Heat transfer vest with hook and loop securement
The present invention comprises a heat transfer vest. The vest is configured to mount a plurality of heat transfer packs on its interior surface. In the preferred embodiments the appropriate portions of the interior surface are covered in a hook-compatible material. In these versions, the thermal transfer packs include one or more hook panels that are used to attach the packs to the interior surface.
Treatment Device and System
A treatment system including a treatment device for treating a treatment area of a person's body is provided. The treatment device may include one or more treatment elements or treatment balls and a clamp or securement mechanism. The clamp or securement mechanism may include a first opposable portion and a second opposable portion, wherein at least one of the first opposable portion and the second opposable portion includes a receptacle configured to releasably hold a treatment element. The clamp or securement mechanism may be transitioned between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The treatment device may be used to apply pressure and a desired temperature to the treatment area, such as to apply pressure and a cold temperature to a portion of a person's ear to help treat ear injuries, which may help to reduce the likelihood of developing deformities (e.g., “cauliflower ear”).
EQUINE CRYOTHERAPY BOOT
The present disclosure provides an equine therapy boot and methods of attaching the equine therapy boot to a lower extremity of a horse leg and hoof. The equine therapy boot includes an upper portion and a lower portion and an attachment means for securing the upper portion to the lower portion. The upper portion includes a fluid containment area for holding a thermal control fluid in proximity to a portion of the horse leg selected to receive treatment.
DISPENSING COLD PACKS
A paper SAM pack with SAM inside and without refrigerant fluid inside, wherein an envelope of the paper SAM pack includes a paper component. A cold pack cooling system including an entrance for accepting refrigerant packs into the system, a conveyor for moving the refrigerant through the system, and a selector for selecting whether to send a cold pack which has passed through the system back to the entrance. An accumulator for cold packs in a cold pack cooling system wherein the accumulator is configured to sense when the accumulator is full of cold packs. Related apparatus and methods are also described.
CRYOGENIC GARMENT
A cryotherapy garment includes a number of receptacles that receive at least one pack of cold-store material. Each of the receptacles is formed by a closed fabric fold in the garment. Each of the receptacles has an opening for insertion of the pack of cold-store material. Each receptacle receives a respective pack, which is made of a semi-rigid material.
MOUTH PIECE FOR COOLING OF ORAL TISSUE OF A PATIENT DURING CHEMOTHERAPY TREATMENT
The invention is directed to a mouth piece for cooling of oral tissue of a patient during chemotherapy treatment. The mouth piece includes a cooling medium contained within the top element and the bottom element and able to retain a cooling environment within the mouth sufficient to reduce capillary blood flow to the patient's mouth. In one embodiment, an external chamber extends from the front of the mouth piece to house a cooling medium. The external chamber can be configured so that it is removably attached to the mouth piece. A support device can be utilized to support the external chamber during use.
Flexible Microwavable Heat Pack
The utility model relates to a flexible microwavable heat pack. At present, most physiotherapy products for treating cervical diseases are electronic physiotherapy products, all of which have the defects of poor curative effects and being easily influenced by such condition factors as time, site, or the like. The utility model consists of a rectangle pack and a plastic spine. The two ends of the rectangle pack are provided with pull-tabs, the interior of the rectangle pack is filled with composite materials, the plastic spine is arranged at a horizontal middle neutral axis part inside the rectangle pack, the two ends of the surface of the rectangle pack are provided with flanges, and the interior of the flange is filled with composite clay; the two sides of the surface of the rectangle pack are provided with a plurality of convex blocks, and the interior of the convex block is filled with composite clay; and the plastic spine is composed by the connection of a plurality of spine joints imitating the shape of a human spine. When in use, the rectangle pack is folded up and down, and placed in a cervical vertebra part of a human body for heat pack (or cold pack); moreover, the pull-tabs may also be pulled for massage. The flexible microwavable heat pack integrates the functions of health care, heat pack or cold pack and massage, s simple to operate, is convenient to use, has wide application scope, and is beneficial for generalizing.
Comfort Cooling Pad
Disclosed herein is a cooling pad for use in bringing down the increased temperature of a hyper-thermic patient. The cooling pad could be adapted in the form of a mattress or could be used to cover the body of hyperthermic patient. The cooling pad comprises a flexible and rollable sealed elongated envelope made of multiple layers. The inner layer of envelope is fluid impervious, followed by a protective outer layer. The envelope encloses a fluid having high latent heat of fusion and may further include additives such as viscosity modifying agent.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COOLING HEAD INJURY
An apparatus and method for treating a head injury including head gear and at least one cooling medium. The cooling medium has a prolonged cooling effect to aid injured persons recovery and health after sustaining a head injury. The apparatus and method is also contemplated for use with headaches, migraines, heat and/or sun stroke, as well as persons that have suffered a stroke.
Heating and/or cooling assembly
The present invention relates to a heating and/or cooling assembly such as a heat pad. The assembly includes a plurality of modules articulated together by connection means so that the assembly can be manipulated by a user to adopt a desired profile. At least one of the modules contains a thermal store in the form of a solid, liquid or gel responsive to heating or cooling externally applied to the assembly so that the solid, liquid or gel is heated or cooled, respectively, and remains in a heated or cooled state for a prolonged period of time after the externally applied heating or cooling is removed.
