Intraocular implants comprising drug-eluting materials with time release characteristics
An intraocular lenses having a plurality of drug-containing microspheres attached to the intraocular lens. The intraocular lenses can be used for patients undergoing cataract surgery and reduces the need for recurrent surgery, follow-up treatment or postoperative eye-drops. Also provides a method for manufacturing such an intraocular lens and the use of an intraocular lens in the treatment of cataract.
Punctal implants with controlled drug delivery features and methods of using same
Disclosed herein are drug delivery punctal implants and methods of using the implants for the treatment of ocular disorders requiring targeted and controlled administration of a drug to an interior portion of the eye for reduction or prevention of symptoms of the disorder. The physical arrangement of drugs within the punctal plugs disclosed herein results, in several embodiments, in advantageous controlled delivery of one or more drugs to the eye of a patient.
Sterile lyophilized drug compositions and methods for treating ocular diseases or conditions
The present invention provides a drug composition comprising particles comprising a biodegradable or bioerodable polymer and a drug, a soluble, biodegradable or bioerodible excipient, a bulking agent and a reconstitution aid. The invention also provides a pharmaceutical formulation and a unit dosage form of the pharmaceutical formulation. The invention provides methods of treatment of a disease or condition accordingly. The invention also provides a drug composition for use in a cannulation device.
Wearable device for communication with an ophthalmic device
A system can include an aural computing system in communication with the ophthalmic device. In some embodiments, the aural computing system can include a wireless communication device in communication with the ophthalmic device. In some embodiments, the ophthalmic device comprises a contact lens, which can inserted into the user's eye. The wireless communication device can comprise wearable technology.
Implantable Device for Delivery of a Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor
An implantable device for delivery of a tyrosine kinase inhibitor is provided. The device comprises a core defining an outer peripheral surface. The core comprises a core polymer matrix within which is dispersed a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. The polymer matrix contains an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer.
Device and methods for flow control of ophthalmic formulations
A flow control device for a compressible bottle may include a reservoir, the reservoir comprising an ophthalmic formulation disposed therein, the ophthalmic formulation comprising an ophthalmic agent and a preservative; a reservoir interface, disposed at a mouth of the reservoir, the reservoir interface comprising one or more apertures, the one or more apertures in the reservoir interface fluidically connecting an interior of the reservoir and an exterior of the reservoir; a nozzle, the nozzle comprising: an outlet and a nozzle cap, the nozzle cap comprising one or more apertures, the one or more apertures in the nozzle cap fluidically connecting the outlet and a reservoir-facing surface of the nozzle; and an axis of rotation, wherein rotation of the nozzle about the axis of rotation relative to the reservoir aligns the one or more apertures in the reservoir interface with the one or more apertures in the nozzle cap.
Adjustable length infusion cannula
Certain embodiments provide an adjustable length infusion cannula having a cannula including a first proximal end and a first distal end, and a hub having a second proximal end, a second distal end, and a central aperture that extends between the second proximal end and the second distal end. The central aperture is configured to accept the first distal end of the cannula and allow the cannula upward movement and downward movement through the hub. The adjustable length infusion cannula also includes a locking mechanism configured to lock the cannula within the hub such that the first distal end extends a first distance past the second distal end of the hub.
ARRANGEMENT FOR MODIFYING AN INTERNAL EYE PRESSURE IN VIVO
The invention relates to an arrangement and a software-based application for modifying an internal eye pressure in vivo, having modulating means for modifying the internal eye pressure and sensor means for capturing the internal eye pressure in vivo, and enabling easily operated and quickly reacting changes to the internal eye pressure while avoiding the disadvantages of the prior art, proposing that the modulating means are implemented for modifying the internal eye pressure as a function of the internal eye pressure captured by the sensor means.
NEW DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR OPHTALMIC USE
Object of the present invention is a drug delivery system comprising a decellularized corneal stroma scaffold having dispersed within and/or bound to its surface microparticles containing at least one pharmaceutically active molecule dispersed in a matrix having a composition consisting for at least 70% of polylactic co-glycolic acid (PLGA).
Apparatus and methods for ocular injection
An apparatus includes a housing coupled to a medicament container, which is coupled to a needle. An injection assembly is disposed within the housing and includes an energy storage member and an actuation rod. A distal end portion of the actuation rod is disposed within the medicament container. The energy storage member can produce a force on a proximal end portion of the actuation rod sufficient to move the distal end portion of the actuation rod within the medicament container. This can convey at least a portion of a substance from the medicament container via the needle when a distal tip of the needle is disposed within a first region of a target location. The force is insufficient to move the distal end portion of the actuation rod within the medicament container when the distal tip of the needle is disposed within a second region of the target location.
