Systems and methods for preventing, diagnosing, and/or treating one or more medical conditions via neuromodulation

Described are systems and methods for preventing, diagnosing, and/or treating one or more medical conditions. The medical conditions can be ocular and/or neurological diseases, disorders, and/or conditions. The systems and methods can employ a microstimulator that is configured to be placed within an anatomical structure of a subject. The microstimulator can be capacitively linked to an external electronic device to provide neuromodulation to a biological target site proximal to the anatomical structure. The microstimulator can include a body and an electrically conductive insert arranged within the body to create a capacitively coupled link with the external electronic device. The electrically conductive insert can receive a power signal from an external electronic device and convert the power signal to deliver a therapy signal to the biological target site.

Fluid delivery alignment system

Aspects of the invention include a device for fluid delivery to the ocular surface having a self-alignment system. The fluid delivery device includes a fluid package having a reservoir and one or more apertures, an actuator component configured to eject fluid from the reservoir through the one or more apertures and an image-based self-alignment system configured to align fluid ejected through the one or more apertures with a target location on the eye of a user. Also provided are methods of using the devices in fluid delivery applications, as well as a kit that includes components of the devices.

SYSTEM FOR THE APPLICATION OF EYEDROPS
20220062042 · 2022-03-03 ·

A system for introducing eye drops into the eyes of a user is disclosed. The system includes non-prescription sun glass frames. The glasses have a small circular opening the middle of each lens positioned above a user's open eye. In one embodiment, the opening an inner surface surrounding the opening includes inner threads. The liquid releasing end of a squeeze bottle of eyedrops may be placed securely in the application opening and drop applied with no spill or waste. An additional benefit of the sun glass design is to enable users who have recently had their eyes dilated to safely apply eye drops. The system is designed to reduce physiological issues associated with applying eyedrops.

ELECTRONIC DROP DISPENSING DEVICE AND METHOD OF OPERATION THEREOF

Disclosed is a portable automatic electronic drop administration device and method of operation thereof. The device comprises a microcontroller communicatively coupled to at least an accelerometer and an electromechanical assembly to administer one or more drops of a liquid, semi-liquid or gaseous substance from any flexible container held within. The device detects whether it is in a suitable orientation before automatically self actuating the electromechanical assembly to administer one or more drops. It can be used in a variety of settings including self administration of eye drops, dispensing condiments or precise metering of liquid medications. Additionally, the device may contain sensors and wireless components to track usage and event data that may be communicated to a physician or other healthcare provider remotely.

Methods and systems for diagnosing and treating health ailments

Configurations are disclosed for a health system to be used in various healthcare applications, e.g., for patient diagnostics, monitoring, and/or therapy. The health system may comprise a light generation module to transmit light or an image to a user, one or more sensors to detect a physiological parameter of the user's body, including their eyes, and processing circuitry to analyze an input received in response to the presented images to determine one or more health conditions or defects.

LACRIMAL SYSTEM DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE

This invention is in the field of medical intervention related to the lacrimal system. The invention relates to a lacrimal system device and methods of using the device for drug delivery to the eye, sinuses and/or periocular tissues.

Delivering ocular implants into the eye
11135088 · 2021-10-05 · ·

A method of deploying an ocular implant into Schlemm's canal of an eye. The method includes the steps of inserting a distal end of a cannula through a cornea of the eye and into an anterior chamber of the eye, the cannula having a distal opening extending from the distal end and through a side wall; placing the distal opening of the cannula into fluid communication with Schlemm's canal; advancing the ocular implant distally through the cannula with a delivery tool engaged with the ocular implant, a proximal portion of the ocular implant engaging the delivery tool proximal to a distal portion of the delivery tool; and disengaging the ocular implant and the delivery tool when the proximal portion of the ocular implant reaches the cannula distal opening. The invention also includes a system for practicing the method.

DROP GENERATING DEVICE

A method of delivering safe, suitable, and repeatable dosages to a subject for topical, oral, nasal, or pulmonary use and a device for droplet ejection includes a fluid delivery system capable of delivering a defined volume of the fluid in the form of droplets having properties that afford adequate and repeatable high percentage deposition upon application. The method and device include a housing, a reservoir disposed within the housing for receiving a volume of fluid, an ejector mechanism configured to eject a stream of droplets having an average ejected droplet diameter greater than 15 microns, the stream of droplets having low entrained airflow such that the stream of droplets deposit on the eye of the subject during use.
