Portable management and monitoring system for eye drop medication regiment
Systems and methods for medication management are provided. Some embodiments provide for a portable medication management and monitoring system for eye drop instillation in ocular chronic conditions. At least one embodiment includes a device having one or more of the following elements: (a) a jacket that goes around an eye drop bottle; (b) tactile sensors to detect the user's fingers and generate data to activate the system; (c) motion sensors to detect the motion of the medication bottle when it is grabbed and moved by the user; (d) a wireless communication module to send and receive data to a computer and portable communication devices; and/or (e) a compartment for holding the electronic components.
Augmented and virtual reality display systems and methods for determining optical prescriptions by imaging retina
Configurations are disclosed for a health system to be used in various healthcare applications, e.g., for patient diagnostics, monitoring, and/or therapy. The health system may comprise a light generation module to transmit light or an image to a user, one or more sensors to detect a physiological parameter of the user's body, including their eyes, and processing circuitry to analyze an input received in response to the presented images to determine one or more health conditions or defects.
Intraocular delivery devices and methods therefor
Injection devices for delivering pharmaceutical compositions into the eye are described. Some devices include a resistance component for controllably deploying an injection needle through the eye wall. The resistance component may be disposed on a removable injector attachment or on a portion of the injection device housing. Other devices may include a filter for the removal of air, infectious agents, and/or other particulate matter from the composition before the composition is injected into the eye. Related methods and systems comprising the devices are also described.
NASOLACRIMAL DRAINAGE SYSTEM IMPLANTS FOR DRUG THERAPY
An implant for insertion through a punctum and into a canalicular lumen of a patient. The implant includes a matrix of material, a therapeutic agent dispersed in the matrix of material, a sheath disposed over a portion of the matrix of material and configured to inhibit the therapeutic agent from being released from the matrix of material into the canalicular lumen and to allow the therapeutic agent to be released from a surface of the matrix of material to a tear film, and a retention structure configured to retain the implant within the canalicular lumen.
TREATMENT METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR EPIDEMIC KERATOCONJUNCTIVITIS
A plasma activated ophthalmic solution generating device operable to generate a therapeutic ophthalmic solution for curing epidemic keratoconjunctivitis includes a plasma generating electrode operable to generate a plasma activated ophthalmic solution for epidemic keratoconjunctivitis, wherein the plasma generating electrode is arranged surrounding an insert space where a unit dose ophthalmic eyedrop container with a container body, which seals a certain solution in a sterile state, is inserted; a power supply unit; and a high voltage generating unit, which is connected to the power supply unit, operable to be supplied with power source from the power supply unit and to apply high voltage electric current to the plasma generating electrode. This configuration makes it possible to provide a novel and effective therapeutic ophthalmic solution for epidemic keratoconjunctivitis (EKC).
EYE DROPPER TARGETING DEVICE AND METHOD
An apparatus for assisting with alignment of a dropping nozzle of an eye dropper bottle includes a tubular hub configured for selective engagement with the dropping nozzle to laterally surround the dropping nozzle within a hub lumen thereof. A first semispherical disc has a first center aperture which laterally surrounds an outer wall of the tubular hub and a first disc body which is semispherically curved. A second semispherical disc has a second center aperture which laterally surrounds the outer wall of the tubular hub and a second disc body which is semispherically curved. The first and second disc rims are attached together at a rim perimeter to laterally enclose a substantially fluid tight toroidal indicator space. At least one user-perceptible liquid is located within the indicator space, the liquid shifting with respect to the tubular hub under influence of gravity responsive to an angular position of the tubular hub.
EYE DROP APPLICATOR
An eye drop applicator includes an applicator body with a top cavity, a bottom cavity, and a dispensing channel connecting the bottom cavity with the top cavity such that a fluid can selectively flow through the dispensing channel to the top cavity. The top cavity includes an opening at a top end of the applicator body, and the bottom cavity includes a bottom opening at a bottom end of the applicator body. The bottom cavity may receive a portion of an applicator container within the bottom cavity to assemble the eye drop applicator with the applicator container containing the fluid to be dispensed.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DIAGNOSING AND TREATING PRESBYOPIA
Configurations are disclosed for a health system to be used in various healthcare applications, e.g., for patient diagnostics, monitoring, and/or therapy. The health system may comprise a light generation module to transmit light or an image to a user, one or more sensors to detect a physiological parameter of the user's body, including their eyes, and processing circuitry to analyze an input received in response to the presented images to determine one or more health conditions or defects.
Devices and methods for cornea treatment
Medical devices and methods of use thereof are described. The device may include a body having a housing that defines a lumen, a piston within the housing, and an actuator operably coupled to the piston, wherein the piston is movable along the lumen by operating the actuator. The device also may include a cartridge insertable into the body and/or a flexible fitting configured for direct application to an eye of a subject.
A DEVICE FOR THE DELIVERY OF A MIST OF A DOSE OF AN OPHTHALMIC LIQUID, AND A PUMP SUITABLE FOR DEVICES FOR THE DELIVERY OF A MIST OF AN OPHTHALMIC LIQUID
The present invention relates to a device for the delivery of a mist of a dose of an ophthalmic liquid, including a housing with a holding chamber having a discharge opening for holding the dose of liquid to be delivered, a pump for pumping, via a dose supply conduit, the dose of the liquid to the holding chamber, the pump being connected with a container containing a plurality of the doses, and an air flow conduit for supplying a flow of air to the holding chamber so as to force the dose delivered by the pump to the holding chamber out through the discharge opening.
