EYE DROP MONITORING DEVICE AND METHOD
An eye drop monitoring device for monitoring gravity-driven placement of an eye drop into an eye of a patient includes a light source configured to selectively direct light toward at least one of the eye and the eye drop. The light is backscattered by at least one of the eye and the eye drop. A light detector is configured to detect the backscattered light from at least one of the eye and the eye drop and responsively produce at least one backscatter signal. An accelerometer is configured to determine a spatial position of the device and responsively produce a device position signal. A processing unit is configured to receive the at least one backscatter signal and the device position signal and responsively produce a drop-on-target signal indicative of a likelihood that the eye drop fell into a predetermined position with respect to the eye.
OPTIMIZED CONCAVE MIRROR FOR HORIZONTAL EYE SPRAY APPARATUS WITH ON-AXIS LIGHT GUIDED USER ALIGNMENT
An eye sprayer includes a spray nozzle having a nozzle axis. the spray nozzle is configured to produce eye spray. The eye sprayer also includes a concave mirror with an opening configured to allow for the delivery eye spray from the spray nozzle. The eye sprayer further includes a light emitter configured to produce a visible light beam directed from the mirror along the nozzle axis.
RIGHT/LEFT EYE DETECTION WITH PROXIMITY SENSOR FOR HORIZONTAL NON-GRAVITATIONAL OPHTHALMIC APPLICATOR
An ophthalmic applicator for treating an eye of a user includes a housing and a reservoir, supported by the housing, for containing a liquid for treating the eye. The applicator also includes a nozzle supported by the housing and operatively connected to the reservoir. The nozzle is configured a non-gravitationally directed dose of the liquid. The applicator further includes a proximity sensor configured to identify the eye, left or right, to which the applicator is applying the liquid to the eye of the user.
DISPENSER FOR DISPENSING LIQUIDS
A dispenser for dispensing liquids, in particular ophthalmic liquids, for dispensing the medicine as individual drops is mounted on the neck of a reservoir, e.g., a bottle, and it is made of a flange connected to a bushing and with a domed tip situated on the opposite side of the bushing, the flange being fitted onto the neck of the reservoir and the bushing entering the neck of the reservoir, while a dispensing domed tip comprising a dispensing opening protrudes outside the reservoir. Inside the bushing and the domed tip there is a conical element placed therein, blocking the flow of liquids, the opening in the domed tip having an inner flange. The conical element has a flange at the base of the cone. The flange situated in the dispensing domed tip is ended from the inside with a fin directed towards the conical element blocking the flow of liquids.
Device and methods for directing agents into an eye
A method, system, and device for magnetically pushing agents into an eye. The agents are magnetic or magnetizable or magnetically responsive.
Topical administration method
The present invention relates to a method for topical administration of ophthalmic compositions in a dropwise manner, preferably for topical administration of ophthalmic compositions comprising semifluorinated alkanes (SFAs). Further, the present invention relates to the use of said methods in the prevention or treatment of ocular diseases or disorders or any symptoms or conditions associated therewith. In a further aspect, the present invention relates to a kit comprising a drop dispenser at least partially filled with a liquid composition for the use in such a method and directions for use of said drop dispenser.
EYE TREATMENT DEVICE HAVING A RING LIKE SHAPE
An eye treatment apparatus is described. The apparatus includes an annular body that has a hollow optical zone in its center. An inner perimeter of the annular body surrounds the optical zone. The inner perimeter has a diameter that corresponds to a diameter of the eye's cornea. An outer perimeter of the annular body has a diameter such that the annular body can extend to underneath the eye lid in an open eye position when the eye treatment apparatus is in operation. In this way, the apparatus can be worn on the eye, where the hollow optical zone substantially corresponds to the cornea and does not interfere with the field of vision. The annular body also includes a storage chamber that stores therapeutic liquid for an eye. An outlet is coupled with the storage chamber such that, in operation, the therapeutic liquid can be dispensed to the eye.
EYEDROPPER BOTTLE HOLDER
The present invention is a device for holding an ophthalmic bottle of drops and instilling them in a patient's eye. The device rests on the boney lower orbital ridge for stability and correct delivery.
APPARATUS FOR OPENING AND HOLDING EYELIDS OPEN
An eye treatment apparatus for opening and holding eyelids of a patient open is described. The apparatus includes a supporting platform having a Y-type shape and including an upper beam configured for extending between a nose bridge and a forehead of the patient and for positioning on the forehead, a left leg and a right leg coupled to the upper beam, and configured for straddling a nose bridge of the patient and for positioning on patient's left and right cheeks, and a cross-arm mounted on the upper beam of the supporting platform. The apparatus also includes an opening assembly mounted on the cross-arm and configured for pulling an upper eyelid up for exposing an eye and retaining the eye of the patient in the open position. The also includes an adjustable annular band for placement around a head of the patient to secure the apparatus thereon.
APPARATUS FOR EYE TREATMENT
An apparatus for treatment of an eye of a patient by a medication stored in an eye drop dispenser is described. The apparatus includes a supporting platform, an upper leg coupled to the supporting platform at one end of the upper leg, a lower leg coupled to the supporting platform at one end of the lower leg and an eye opening assembly configured to pull an upper eyelid up for exposing the eye to the eye drop dispenser and retaining the eye of the patient in the open position. The supporting platform includes a delivery opening configured for holding an eye drop dispenser therein in the upside-down position. The upper leg is configured for positioning on a forehead above an eyebrow of the patient at the other end of the upper leg. The lower leg is configured for positioning on a top part of a cheek below a lower eyelid.
