Apparatus and system for administering drugs onto ocular surface
An apparatus for administering a drug onto an ocular surface of a subject, the apparatus including a probe holding means for holding a probe within the apparatus. The probe has a first part being made of a bio-compatible material, and a second part being made of a magnetic material, the first part having a proximal end connected to the second part and a distal end opposite to the proximal end, wherein the distal end of the first part is employed to carry the drug. The apparatus also has an induction coil and control circuit, wherein the control circuit controls the induction coil to produce a first magnetic force and a second magnetic force, in an alternating manner, to release the probe in a first direction and to retract the probe in a second direction, respectively, wherein, when released in the first direction, the probe administers the drug from the distal end of the first part upon touching the ocular surface of the subject.
Device for assisting with the use of a device for dispensing a liquid product
The invention relates to a device for dispensing a solution, having a body, the outer surface of which is intended to be held in at least one of a user's hands, and having at least one activation zone that is able to be acted upon by the user to cause the solution to be dispensed, and a head carried by the body, the head being provided with a contact surface for pressing on an area of a patient's body, the contact surface forming an outer contour, and with at least one orifice for dispensing the solution, the head being coupled to the body by connecting means that allow it to rotate with respect to the body about an axis of rotation substantially parallel to an axis of the body in order to modify the position of the contact surface with respect to the at least one activation zone.
EYE DROP DISPENSER
A dispenser assembly includes a dispenser bottle having a nipple for dispensing a solution (e.g., eye drop solution, eye wash solution, eye lid cleaner and/or wash solution), and a cap removably couplable to the dispenser bottle over the nipple. An eye cup is fixedly coupled to the dispenser bottle around the nipple. The eye cup can be supported on or rest on the periphery of the eye socket to facilitate delivery of the solution onto or over a user's eye.
AN EYE MASK FOR PROVIDING A THERAPY TO EYES
Embodiments of the present invention provide an eye mask for providing a therapy to eyes of a user. The eye mask comprises an inner layer, an outer layer and a circuit board. The inner layer has a first depression cavity and a second depression cavity such that the periphery of the first depression cavity and the second depression cavity form a convex edge. The circuit board comprises a plurality of LEDs for providing photo therapy and a micro-current element in arranged on the inner layer for providing micro-current therapy around the eyes of the user. A protective layer is provided over the LEDs to prevent direct exposure of eyes with the light emitted by the plurality of LEDs.
Ocular implant delivery device and method
An ocular implant system including an ocular implant sized and shaped to be inserted at least partially into an eye; a carrier member with a shell having a central channel extending at least partially through the shell from a proximal end towards a distal end of the shell. A guide sleeve removably attached within at least a first region of the central channel of the shell and defining a proximal port into the central channel that is accessible from the proximal end of the shell. An implant holder removably attached within at least a second region of the central channel of the shell adjacent to a distal end of the guide sleeve and having a pair of graspers adapted to releasably secure the implant at a distal end of the implant holder. Related devices, systems, and/or methods are described.
Augmented and virtual reality display systems and methods for diagnosing health conditions based on visual fields
Configurations are disclosed for a health system to be used in various healthcare applications, e.g., for patient diagnostics, monitoring, and/or therapy. The health system may comprise a light generation module to transmit light or an image to a user, one or more sensors to detect a physiological parameter of the user's body, including their eyes, and processing circuitry to analyze an input received in response to the presented images to determine one or more health conditions or defects.
Topical ocular delivery of fluids with controlled mass dosing and wireless communication
Methods of administering a liquid formulation of an ophthalmic agent to a topical ocular location of an eye are provided. Aspects of the methods include delivering to the topical ocular location a dose of the liquid formulation that can be wholly accommodated by the tear film of the eye. Devices and kits for practicing the methods are also provided. The methods, compositions and kits find use in a variety of applications, including therapeutic, diagnostic and cosmetic applications. Further aspects include wireless communication between a handheld dispenser of the ophthalmic agent and external devices(s) to provide various functions.
EYE SYRINGE AND METHOD
An eye syringe includes an elongated handle. The handle includes a needle that, upon actuation from a retracted position, extends through an opening at a distal end of the handle so as to penetrate an eye of a subject at a predetermined angle. The distal end forms a concave tip shaped to match the contour of, and hold, an outer surface of the eyeball. The distal end has a protruding upper edge configured to be inserted behind an upper eyelid so as to distance the upper eyelid from the needle and hold the upper eyelid in place during the injection. The distal end may also have a lower edge configured to demarcate a border of a portion of the eyesuch as the limbusso as to accurately position the needle. A flap may move to cover the point of injection after the injection.
Electronic drop dispensing device and method of operation thereof
Disclosed is a portable automatic electronic drop administration device and method of operation thereof. The device comprises a microcontroller communicatively coupled to at least an accelerometer and an electromechanical assembly to administer one or more drops of a liquid, semi-liquid or gaseous substance from any flexible container held within. The device detects whether it is in a suitable orientation before automatically self actuating the electromechanical assembly to administer one or more drops. It can be used in a variety of settings including self administration of eye drops, dispensing condiments or precise metering of liquid medications. Additionally, the device may contain sensors and wireless components to track usage and event data that may be communicated to a physician or other healthcare provider remotely.
ANTERIOR SEGMENT DRUG DELIVERY
A therapeutic system comprises an ocular insert placed on a region outside an optical zone of an eye. The ocular insert comprises two structures: a first skeletal structure and a second cushioning structure. The first structure functions as a skeletal frame which maintains positioning of the implant along the anterior portion of the eye and provides support to the second, cushioning structure. This first structure maintains the attachment of the therapeutic system to the anterior portion of the eye for at least thirty days. In some embodiments the first structure remains a constant size and shape, e.g. a ring shape, a ring with haptics, or a curvilinear ring that is confined to and restrainingly engages the inferior and superior conjunctival fornices so as to retain the implant within the tear fluid and/or against the tissues of the eye.
