20170075146 · 2017-03-16 · ·

There is provided a novel and improved eyeglasses protection device capable of suppressing occurrence of reflected light that may enter eyes of a user of the eyeglasses protection device and thus reducing fatigue of the user, the eyeglasses protection device including: a lens surface protective part configured to protect a lens surface of eyeglasses. The lens surface protective part is equipped with a substrate film, and a micro concavo-convex structure that is formed on a surface of the substrate film, with an average period of the concavo-convex part being equal to or less than a wavelength of visible light. According to the aforementioned viewpoint of the present invention, it is possible to suppress occurrence of reflected light that may enter eyes of a user of the eyeglasses protection device because the micro concavo-convex structure is formed in the lens surface protective part of the eyeglasses protection device.

PROTECTIVE ASSEMBLY

A protective assembly including a singly-curved optically clear substrate and a laser-protective stack adhesively laminated to the substrate. The laser-protective stack includes a multilayer optical film configured to exhibit a light-transmission of 10% or less in a preselected wavelength range of the visible spectrum; the laser-protective stack will nevertheless exhibit an overall transmission of at least 60% over the visible spectrum. The laser-protective stack may also include an optically clear pressure-sensitive adhesive that adhesively bonds the multilayer optical film to the substrate, and may also include an optically clear physical-protection layer in front of the multilayer optical film.

CIRCADIAN RHYTHM RESTORING BLUE BLOCKERS

Methods and devices are described that relate to spectral filters and associated eyewear that are specifically designed to mitigate the disruptive effects of electric lighting on the circadian clock that can cause sleep deprivation and other physiological and psychological maladies. An example wearable device for viewing a real or virtual environment includes one or more windows positioned and a spectral filter that comprises a coating positioned on one or more sections of the one or more windows. The spectral filter includes a multi-layer stack of dielectric material with alternate high and low indices of refraction. The number of the layers and a thickness of each layer are selected to provide designed transmission and blocking characteristics to block circadian-rhythm-disruptive spectra from reaching the wearer's eyes while providing viewability of the real or virtual environment by allowing light outside of the circadian-rhythm-disruptive spectra to reach the wearer's eyes.

An adjustment mechanism is disclosed that includes a housing that has a sidewall extending circumferentially around a central axis defining an opening. A first aperture extends through the sidewall perpendicular to the central axis and a receiving member rotatably coupled to the housing and includes a protrusion that extends along the central axis and an aperture spaced from the central axis. A cable has a first end that extends through the first aperture of the housing and is fixedly coupled to the receiving member and a second end fixed relative to the housing. A knob is rotatably coupled to the housing and is configured to engage the receiving member such that rotation of the knob causes the receiving member to rotate. A locking element engages with the sidewall of the housing, and is configured to disengage the sidewall in response to a manual rotation of the knob by a user.

RADIATION FILTRATION SHIELDS FOR EYE OR BODY PROTECTION

A radiation filter insert is provided. The glasses filter insert includes a first filter lens and a second filter lens, each having an inner surface and an outer surface. The first and second filter lens may include an electromagnetic filter. The present invention may include a bridge connector. The bridge connector may connect the first and second filter lenses together. The bridge connector may include a curved inner edge formed to fit around a nosepiece of an eyewear. The filtering insert may include resting tabs to allow the insert to remain in position on the eyewear. The filtering insert may further include grasping tabs. The grasping tabs allow placement using the thumb and index finger of one hand. These resting and grasping tabs enables insertion and removal without displacing the eyewear. Therefore, a user may wear a pair of protective glasses and may insert the radiation filter insert in between the protective eyewear and the user, thereby shielding the user from electromagnetic energy or enabling its screening qualities.

Disclosed herein, inter alia, are a method, system and a kit for improving a defined condition in a subject, the method comprising selecting a set of one or more correction zones, being surface zones on the surface of the subject's skin or defined angular zones in the subject's field of view, the one or more correction zones being associated with the condition; and placing the one or more correcting elements in said one or more correction zones to thereby cause improvement in said condition. Also provided herein are methods and systems for providing such correction zones related to a defined condition in a subject or to a defined cause in a subject being associated with a defined condition.

Low-emissivity film for article of personal protective equipment

A low-emissivity film for an article of personal protective equipment (PPE) having a lens is provided. The low-emissivity film is configured to be attached to at least one of an inner surface and an outer surface of the lens. A low-emissivity coating for the article of PPE is also provided.

Sleep-aiding eyewear with improved visibility

Sleep-aiding eyewear that prevents light which inhibits melatonin production from reaching the eye is described. The eyewear that is the object of the present disclosure has improved visibility over other methods of cutting off melatonin-inhibiting wavelengths of light, which enables the user to perform tasks, such as reading and typing, uninhibited. This is achieved in some embodiments using a Bragg grating comprising multiple layers of alternating reflective index material as a surface coating on the lens. This may be combined with lens-tinting, or antireflective coatings, in the eyewear. Furthermore, transition lenses which block melatonin-shifting light when there is a suitable external stimulus, such as blue light from a light emitting diode, are described. The presently described filters are also useful for electronic displays and functional light-transmitting materials.

Protective helmet

In a protective helmet, in particular a sports helmet, with a shock-absorbing helmet shell and a visor, on each of two opposite sides of the protective helmet, a coupling section of the helmet shell and a coupling section of the visor are formed, one of which is configured as a coupling receptacle and the other as a coupling extension and in such a way that, the coupling extension may engage in the coupling receptacle in order to connect the visor to the helmet shell. The coupling extension is displaceable in the coupling receptacle along a displacement path between an initial position and an advance position and is pivotable about a pivot axis between the advance position and an open position.
