WELDING HELMET
Provided is a welding helmet maintaining a power-on state after initial power is applied thereto, the welding helmet including: a circuit unit controlling a shutter liquid crystal display (LCD) based on at least one of whether welding light exists and an intensity of the welding light; a power supply unit supplying power to the circuit unit; and a switch unit controlling electrical connection between the circuit unit and the power supply unit, wherein after being initially switched to an on state, the switch unit maintains the on state.
Augmented Reality in a Material Processing System
A method for visually communicating material processing parameters to an operator of a torch system. The method includes receiving data related to a material processing operation from at least one sensor of a torch system and at least one camera disposed on a protective helmet. The method further includes processing the data into information relating to a set of material processing parameters and converting the information into visual data compatible with a display disposed on or within the protective helmet. The method also includes providing the visual data to a region of the display for viewing by an operator of the torch system. The region of the display is within a field of view of the operator in order to visually communicate the information to the operator of the torch system.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS INCLUDING A HEAD-MOUNTED DEVICE FOR USE IN ARC WELDING
Embodiments of systems and methods related to the automatic adjustment of auto-darkening filter device parameters in response to settings of a welding system are disclosed. One embodiment includes a head-mounted device having a wireless receiver, an auto-darkening device, and a selection device. The wireless receiver is configured to receive wirelessly transmitted communication signals from an arc welding system which represent a present welding current setting and a present welding mode setting of the arc welding system. The selection device is configured to automatically select a shade and a sensitivity of the auto-darkening device in response to the present welding current setting and the present welding mode setting. The auto-darkening device is configured to sense the presence of an arc, transition from an un-darkened state to a darkened state in response to the arc, and transition from the darkened state to the un-darkened state when the arc is no longer present.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING AIR FLOW
Provided is a powered air blower unit for delivering air flow to a user with constant air flow or varying speeds of air flow. The air blower unit may also include a filter for purifying the air.
Iris Shield
Apparatus and methods, and uses of apparatus, for preventing prolapse of iris tissue, through a surgical opening in the eye during eye surgery. Early in the surgery, one or more surgical openings are made in the eye, and a flexible biocompatible iris shield is inserted, through a such opening, into the anterior chamber and placed in a position whereby the iris shield overlies the iris anteriorly, adjacent each surgical opening and is positioned between the iris and any surgical openings. If/when the pressure inside the anterior chamber increases during surgery, any anterior movement of the iris toward the cornea or sclera in response to such pressure, moves the iris shield in an anterior direction, such that the iris shield remains between the iris and the surgical opening. Thus, the iris shield blocks the surgical opening and prevents movement of eye material, e.g. iris tissue, to and through the surgical opening.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR A SAFETY BEACON FOR A WELDING PROTECTION DEVICE
A protection device is disclosed, where the protection device comprises an eye protection shield, a light beacon, and a control circuitry to control the light beacon.
WELDING HELMETS AND METHODS TO PROVIDE AUDIO FEEDBACK IN A WELDING HELMET
Welding helmets and methods to provide audio feedback in a welding helmet are disclosed. An example welding helmet includes: an audio device attached to the helmet, the audio device configured to output audio to the user wearing the helmet; communication circuitry configured to: receive first audio information from at least one of a personal audio device, a weld management system, a weld training system, or an audio communication system, wherein the speaker is configured to output first audio based on the first audio information; and receive second audio information from another one of the weld management system, the weld training system, or the audio communication system, the speaker configured to output second audio based on the received second audio information; and audio processing circuitry configured to interrupt playback of the first audio in response to receiving the audio message to play the second audio based on the second audio information.
