Moisture assessment system and method for wound care
A wound dressing for wireless communication with a transceiver includes a radio-frequency antenna circuit disposed on a flexible substrate, and an electrochemical moisture sensor circuit disposed on a surface of the flexible substrate. An adhesive is provided to attach the wound dressing skin of a user. The electrochemical moisture sensor is arranged between the adhesive and the flexible substrate.
SELF CONTAINED WOUND DRESSING WITH MICROPUMP
A composite wound dressing apparatus promotes healing of a wound via the use of a micropump system housed within or above a wound dressing member. The micropump system includes a miniature pump that applies a subatmospheric pressure to the wound to effectively draw wound fluid or exudate away from the wound bed without the need for a cumbersome external vacuum source. Hence, the wound dressing and micropump system is portable which allows the patient mobility that is unavailable when an external vacuum source is used. The patient does not need to be constrained for any period of time while exudate is being removed from the wound.
Methods and dressing systems for promoting healing of injured tissue
A dressing system is disclosed which has a sponge and a near infrared spectroscopy sensor positioned adjacent to the sponge for monitoring oxygenation levels of tissue adjacent to the sponge. The dressing system may further include a tube coupled to the sponge for removing fluid from the sponge. The dressing system comprises: a sponge; and a tensioning system coupled to the sponge. The tensioning system further comprises a central longitudinal member coupled to the sponge; and at least one tensioning member coupled to the central longitudinal member. A sequential compression system comprises: an envelope sleeve dressing; and a bladder that is both expandable and retractable. A tissue filler system is also described and includes a plurality of tubes; wherein each of the plurality of tubes further comprises apertures; and a pump coupled to at least one of the tubes which obviates the need for any sponge or wound screen.
Fluid ingress protection for NPWT device
A negative pressure wound treatment (NPWT) system including a NWPT therapy unit and a wound dressing configured to overlay a wound bed. The NPWT system includes a first length of tubing comprising a first end and a second end, the first end of the first length of tubing coupled to the NWPT therapy unit and the second end of the first length of tubing having a first coupling half, as well as a second length of tubing having a first end and second end, the first end of the second length of tubing coupled to the wound dressing and the second end of the second length of tubing having a second coupling half. The NPWT system includes an inline filter comprising a sintered polymer and a superabsorbent material, and an inline coupling, wherein the inline coupling is configured to operably couple and de-couple the NPWT therapy unit and wound dressing.
Wetness Pad Assembly, System and Method
A clip assembly for use with an incontinence pad having a trace pair comprising a housing and a jaw fastened together to move between open and closed states and including conductive contacts spaced to connect to the traces when the clip is attached to the pad, also including a voltage source, a sensor and a processor linked to the source and sensor n the housing and programmed to detect wetness at across the traces, at least one of the housing and the jaw having a substantially flat external surface for supporting the assembly on a horizontal surface.
Dressing apparatus and methods for facilitating healing
A dressing apparatus and methods for facilitating healing, the apparatus and methods involving a dressing member, an electromagnetically conductive element mechanically coupled with the dressing member, and a primary RFID device configured to transmit at least one output signal to the electromagnetically conductive element, to receive at least one return signal from the electromagnetically conductive element, and to provide an alert if the at least one return signal has a strength corresponding to at least approximately a threshold amount of fluid present in the dressing member, whereby healing is facilitated.
SENSOR SHEET WITH DIGITAL DISTRIBUTED DATA ACQUISITION FOR WOUND MONITORING AND TREATMENT
A wound monitoring and/or therapy apparatus can include multiple sensor circuits, a selection circuit coupled to each sensor circuit, and a processor configured to be in communication with the selection circuit. Each sensor circuit can process multiple sensor signals to generate a single output signal from the multiple sensor signals. Each of the sensor signals can correspond to a measurement of a sensor positioned on a substrate that is configured to be positioned at least partially in a wound. The selection circuit can receive the single output signals from the sensor circuits and outputs a selected single output signal. The processor can receive the selected single output signal and decomposes the selected signal output signal into the multiple sensor signals used to generate the selected single output signal. The processor can activate sensors and receive sensor data from the sensors. The processor can digitize the sensor data and transmit the digitized sensor data to a remote controller.

A wound dressing includes a hydrophilic foam layer, a plurality of wicking strips, and a drape layer. The hydrophilic foam layer is configured to engage a wound bed and has a first side and a second side, the second side configured to face the wound bed. The plurality of wicking strips also have a first side and a second side, the second side configured to face the first side of the hydrophilic foam layer. The drape layer also has a first side and a second side, the second side configured to face the first side of the plurality of wicking strips. One or more of the plurality of wicking strips also have a removable tab, wherein the tab extends beyond a periphery of the wound dressing.
