Head trauma bandage cap and method
An emergency hemostatic head trauma bandage cap with a strap system and method of use, which, when applied to the head, delivers minimal pressure to control bleeding, doesn't compromise cervical spine immobilization, allows for fast and effective application of cooling gel to control intracranial/internal swelling or hot packs to prevent hypothermia in non-trauma situations, doesn't come apart during treatment and transport, and doesn't require a caregiver to re-wrap the dressing.
LIQUID FLOW DETECTION IN TISSUE SITE DRESSINGS AND INSTILLATION METHODS
A dressing for treating a tissue site may include a manifold, a transparent or translucent backing layer disposed over a surface of the manifold, an adherent layer disposed on at least a margin of the backing layer, and a plurality of liquid contact indicators disposed in a spaced array between the manifold and the backing layer. A dressing kit may include the plurality of liquid contact indicators separate from the other elements of the dressing. Therapy systems may include the dressing or a dressing assembled from the dressing kit. Also, methods for monitoring fluid distribution and methods for reducing edema can include the dressing, a dressing assembled from the dressing kit, or at least a portion of the therapy system containing them.
DRESSING BOLSTER WITH AREA PRESSURE INDICATOR
A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure may include a first layer configured to deform under a first predetermined negative pressure, and a second layer. The second layer may include an indicator configured to remain visible or hidden until the first layer deforms.
SYSTEMS FOR INDUCING AND INDICATING DEACTIVATION OF ADHESIVE DRAPES
Provided herein are systems and methods for controlling, inducing, and indicating adhesive deactivation of adhesive drape systems. One aspect provides a system comprising a drape, a photosensitive adhesive layer, and a release agent, where the system is adapted to be coupled to a tissue site and released therefrom after exposure to an external stimulus, such as light. The system may have one or more photosensitive pigment areas that provide a visual indication based on exposure to the light. Another aspect provides a method for controlling the adhesion of a drape by application of a low-tack substance to one or more areas of a drape adhesive. The low-tack substance may be configured to produce a visual indication to distinguish areas where the low-tack substance has been applied. Such systems and methods enable a user to control properties of the drape adhesive and determine the various adhesive states via a visual indication.
SCHEDULE IDENTIFYING MEDICAL DRESSING
Methods, systems, and apparatus for a medical dressing. The medical dressing includes a main body that is configured to cover and hold in place a medical device inserted at an insertion site. The medical dressing includes a secure tab that is configured to secure the inserted medical device at the insertion site. The medical dressing includes a label that allows a schedule or a date to be filled-in. The medical dressing includes an indicator that indicates when to remove the medical device.
ANTIMICROBIAL COMPRESSION WRAP
The present invention relates to a compression bandage for treating wounds comprised of a linear elastic compression wrap and a sterilized polymer foam layer containing a plurality of 5 antimicrobial dyes with at least one dye being gram positive and at least one other dye being gram negative and a biofilm reduction agent and wherein said foam is secured to said linear elastic compression wrap.
MULTI-FUNCTIONAL PERSONALIZED PATCH WITH THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES
Carefully coordinated patches having camouflaging and/or benefit properties can be formed for application to a desired region of human skin. The patches include a flexible film having a first, adhesive, outwardly facing major surface and a second outwardly facing surface which is textured to correspond to skin covered by the patch during use; wherein the flexible film further comprises at least one pigmented region and at least one region adapted to modify one or more optical properties selected from the group consisting of light transmission, light reflection, and light absorption. Methods of custom use of such patches may include 3D printing processes.
Sealing systems and methods employing a hybrid switchable drape
Systems, kits, methods of manufacturing, and a sealing member for creating a sealed space are described. The sealing member can include a film layer and a first adhesive layer coupled to the film layer. The sealing member can also include a second adhesive layer coupled to the first adhesive layer. A plurality of apertures may extend through the second adhesive layer. Each aperture can expose at least a portion of the first adhesive layer through the second adhesive layer. A plurality of polymer particles may be disposed in the first adhesive layer. The polymer particles can be configured to dissolve in response to interaction with a switching solution.
Bandage with an insertable medical data card
A bandage with an insertable medical data card consisting of a bandage with a central pocket, a slit for accessing the pocket, a flap for sealing the pocket, and a transparent faceplate on the pocket. The medical data card contains pertinent medical data of a user adapted to be inserted into the pocket of the bandage and the bandage worn upon the body of the user. The bandage is changeable every three to four days and the medical data card can be transferred from one bandage to another. The system provides a wearable medical data card which instantly informs first responders and medical caregivers of the user's pertinent medical information, saving precious time while life saving measures based on the pertinent medical information gleaned from the medical data card are being implemented.
