20230190533 · 2023-06-22 ·

A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure may comprise a cover having an adhesive, a manifold, a perforated polymer film, and a perforated silicone gel having a treatment aperture. The cover, the manifold, the perforated polymer film, and the perforated silicone gel may be assembled in a stacked relationship with the cover and the perforated silicone gel enclosing the manifold. The perforated polymer film may be at least partially exposed through the treatment aperture, and at least some of the adhesive may be exposed through the perforated silicone around the treatment aperture.

BANDAGE
20170360542 · 2017-12-21 ·

A bandage for the treatment of animal wounds and related method includes use of a flexible kinesiology tape, a pressure-sensitive adhesive and an absorbent pad disposed on an inner face of the kinesiology tape. The pressure-sensitive adhesive retains the absorbent pad on the tape while a residual portion is free to adhere in use to itself or a surface such as a skin surface surrounding the wound to retain the bandage in position.

Vacuum bandage packing

A vacuum bandage is provided for use with a wound having a wound surface. The bandage is connectable to a vacuum source and includes a wound dressing member having a wound contacting surface, a top surface, and a port configured for communication with the vacuum source. The wound dressing member further includes holes in the wound contacting surface configured for communication with the wound surface of the wound and a passageway between the port and each hole. The vacuum bandage further includes a pack adjacent to the top surface of the member. The pack may include an aperture positioned about the port.

Wound dressing

A method and apparatus are disclosed for dressing a wound. The apparatus comprises a sealing layer comprising at least one orifice, an absorbent layer over the sealing layer, absorbing wound exude and a liquid impermeable, gas permeable filter layer over the absorbent layer.

Apparatus for aspirating, irrigating and cleansing wounds

An apparatus for cleansing wounds in which irrigant fluid from a reservoir connected to a conformable wound dressing and wound exudate from the dressing are recirculated by a device for moving fluid through a flow path which passes through the dressing and a means for fluid cleansing and back to the dressing. The cleansing means (which may be a single-phase, e.g. microfiltration, system or a two-phase, e.g. dialytic system) removes materials deleterious to wound healing, and the cleansed fluid, still containing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing, is returned to the wound bed. The dressing and a method of treatment using the apparatus.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING A WOUND WITH WOUND PACKING
20170354754 · 2017-12-14 ·

Methods for treating a wound with a wound packing are discussed. While the wound packing can include any suitable component, in some cases, it includes a collection of multi-potent cells (e.g., cells from bone marrow, amniotic membrane tissue, amniotic fluid, stem cells, etc.), plasma (e.g., concentrated and/or platelet rich plasma), and collagen (e.g., native and/or organized reconstituted collagen). In some cases, the wound packing is gelled, coagulated, or otherwise hardened through the use of thrombin, calcium chloride, and/or another suitable additive. In some cases, the wound packing is shaped to substantially correspond to the wound's shape. While the wound packing can be used in any suitable manner, in some instances, it is applied to the wound, skin fragments are applied to the packing, the packing is secured to the wound, and/or the packing is covered with a protective barrier. Other implementations are also described.

Hydrogel wound dressing for use with suction

A wound dressing comprising: an air-impermeable backing sheet having an aperture for attachment of a suction element; an air-permeable screen layer on a wound facing side of the backing sheet; and a substantially air-impermeable hydrogel layer extending across a wound facing side of said screen layer and joined in substantially airtight fashion to a periphery of said backing sheet around said screen layer. Also provided is a wound treatment system comprising a wound dressing according to the invention and a source of suction in fluid communication with said aperture.

Delivery of active ingredients from plant materials to skin

Disclosed is an apparatus and methods for its use that is configured to be used to treat various skin conditions. The apparatus includes a water-permeable absorbent material and a plant material comprising a water-soluble skin-active ingredient. The plant material is enclosed within the water-permeable absorbent material, and the water-permeable absorbent material is configured to absorb water and allow the absorbed water to contact the plant material so as to release the active ingredient from the plant material. The active ingredient is then absorbed by the absorbent material, which is then topically applied to skin in need of skin treatment.

Wound dressing and method of treatment

A wound dressing, a method of manufacturing a wound dressing, and a method of treating a patient are disclosed. The wound dressing may include an absorbent layer for absorbing wound exudate; and an obscuring element for at least partially obscuring a view of wound exudate absorbed by the absorbent layer in use.
