Package seal having a fibrous breathable material
The invention provides a sterilizable pouch having at least one wall formed of a flexible film and including an opening formed therein for providing communication to an interior space of the package. A breathable material is disposed on an outer surface of the wall covering the opening. The breathable material is joined to the outer surface of the wall with a continuous heat seal. A heat resistant material is positioned between the breathable material an outer surface of the wall.
UNIT FOR HEMOSTASIS AND ARRANGEMENT CONTAINING THE SAME
The invention relates to a unit for hemostasis. The unit is configured to be directly applied to a bleeding wound and comprises an envelope enclosing an inner space as well as an effective amount of a hemostatic material disposed within the inner space. Furthermore, the invention relates to an arrangement of two or more such units for hemostasis, the units being coupled to each other. Moreover, the invention relates to a method for producing an arrangement of units for hemostasis. In accordance with the method, an effective amount of a hemostatic material is disposed within an interior region of a starting material, and neck regions are formed on both sides of the charge so as to form an envelope enclosing the charge.
Bandage Administering Assembly
A bandage administering assembly for releasing a selected amount of bandage includes a grip and a mount that is attached to the grip. A roller is rotatably mounted on the mount. A bandage is wound up to define a bandage roll and the bandage roll is positioned on the roller. A free end of the bandage roll is pulled to unwind the bandage roll from the roller. A dispenser is attached to the mount. The bandage is extended through the dispenser to define an exposed portion of the bandage. The dispenser is used to selectively cut off the exposed portion.
Device pad
Arrangements described herein relate to systems, apparatuses, and methods for a head cradle pad configured to be affixed to a head cradle of a medical device, the head cradle pad includes a first section corresponding to a shape of a top portion of the head cradle, a second section corresponding to a shape of a bottom portion of the head cradle, and a center connection portion connecting the first section and the second section. The first section and the second section are shaped to form spatial gaps when the head cradle pad is in a flat state when the head cradle pad is un-affixed to the head cradle. The first section and the second section are shaped to eliminate the spatial gaps when the head cradle pad is affixed to the concave surface of the head cradle.
PROTECTIVE PACKAGING STRUCTURE FOR COMPRESSIBLE MATERIALS
A more robust packaging structure for maintaining the integrity of compressible biologically active materials during storage and especially during transportation is provided.
These containers protect the materials from shock, vibration, deformation, or separation from agitation. The compressible materials may be in the form of synthetic fibers, and may include a composite of fibers and beads or granules. Suitable materials that may benefit from such a robust packaging structure include synthetic materials that comprise a biologically active ceramic or glass.
PREPARATION OF OCCLUSIVE DRESSINGS
A method of preparing an occlusive wound dressing involves preparing a slurry of an occlusive composition with a hydrophobic compound and a bacteriostatic agent, applying the occlusive composition on a fabric to produce a coated fabric, disposing the coated fabric in packaging, adding water onto at least one of the coated fabric and the packaging, sealing the packaging containing the coated fabric, and irradiating the sealed package to sterilize and produce the occlusive wound dressing. The occlusive wound dressing has from about 60 wt % to about 75 wt % hydrophobic compound, from about 2 wt % to about 5 wt % bacteriostatic agent, from about 2 wt % to about 5 wt % water, and from about 5 wt % to about 36 wt % fabric.
Packaging Material for Sterilization
The present invention provides a novel packaging material for sterilization which has processing suitability as a packaging material, is compatible with all sterilization processing methods such as those performed under high-temperature conditions, has small variation in shapes and dimensions, and is capable of maintaining an internal sterilized condition. This packaging material for sterilization is configured from at least two layers of laminated non-woven fabrics comprising a non-woven fabric layer (I) formed of continuous long fibers having an average fiber diameter of 5-30 m and a non-woven fabric layer (II) formed of ultra-fine fibers having an average fiber diameter of 0.1-4 m.
Carrying Box Integrateable in an Article of Clothing
A carrying box is releasably attachable to a portion of a piece of clothing. The carrying box has a top section connectable to a bottom section in a sealing manner. The bottom section has a curved bottom face with a curve radius substantially corresponding with the curve shape of a body part of a human being to be covered by the portion of piece of clothing. The carrying box further is arranged for releasable interconnection with said portion of piece of clothing by at least one attachment means, wherein at least one of a curved inward top face of the top section and the curved bottom face of the bottom section is arranged to carry a compress element.
Wound packing device with nanotextured surface
Embodiments of the invention include wound packing devices and methods of making and using the same. In an embodiment, the invention includes a wound packing device including a plurality of spacing elements comprising a nanotextured surface. The wound packing device can also include a connector connecting the plurality of spacing elements to one another. Other embodiments are also included herein.
