A full-surround contact antimicrobial dressing is disclosed. The dressing includes a transparent body that covers a skin insertion site through which a catheter assembly passes for disposal within the body of a patient. The transparency of the dressing body enables inspection of the skin insertion site. In one embodiment, therefore, an antimicrobial full-surround contact dressing for use with a medical device inserted into a skin surface of a patient via a skin insertion site is disclosed and comprises a transparent flat body, an antimicrobial adhesive substance disposed on a bottom surface of the body, and a slit defined in the body. The slit is configured to enable the body to be placed fully around a perimeter of the medical device on the skin surface at the skin insertion site such that the bottom surface of the body fully surrounds and contacts the skin insertion site.

A removable covering for an object includes an adhered section that is adhered to the object (e.g., adhered to a receiving surface of the object via an adhesive layer) and a free section that is not adhered to the object. The removable covering is sufficiently flexible to allow at least partial removal of the adhered section from the object by application of a force to the removable covering. Typically, the removable covering is adhered to the object such that resistance to removal of the covering from the object varies at different zones of attachment between the removable covering and the object. The resistance variation may be achieved, for example, by employing tabs, loops, folds, varying-strength adhesive strips, textures and/or release coatings. Exemplary packaging systems (e.g., containing removable coverings and/or objects) include features such that resistance to removal of the packaging system from an object varies at different phases of removal.

The adhesive bandage includes a first and a second bandage arms and a third and a fourth bandage arms. The first and second bandage arms are transverse to the third and fourth bandage arms. The first and second bandage arms are longer in length to the third and fourth bandage arms. The adhesive bandage further includes a medicated pad at an intersection of the first and second bandage arms and the third and fourth bandage arms. In one embodiment, the new bandage includes an adhesive strip and a clip such that the adhesive strip is looped through the clip. In another embodiment, the new bandage includes an adhesive strip and a Velcro strap such that the adhesive strip is looped through the Velcro strap.

WOUND DRESSING ASSEMBLY

A wound dressing assembly includes a wound cover and a carrier. The wound cover has a length and width substantially greater than a height (or thickness), a first major surface, and a second major surface, opposite the first. The first major surface has disposed thereon a wound cover pressure sensitive adhesive comprising a colloidal absorbent, and it is arranged and configured to adhere to mammalian skin during use. The carrier has a length and width substantially greater than a height (or thickness), a first major surface, and a second major surface, opposite the first. The first major surface of the carrier is disposed in facing relation and is removably attached to the second major surface of the wound cover, and it has disposed thereon at least one pressure sensitive adhesive. After application of the wound cover to skin for use, the carrier is removable from the wound cover to leave the wound cover adhered to the skin.
