LIQUID FLOW DETECTION IN TISSUE SITE DRESSINGS AND INSTILLATION METHODS
A dressing for treating a tissue site may include a manifold, a transparent or translucent backing layer disposed over a surface of the manifold, an adherent layer disposed on at least a margin of the backing layer, and a plurality of liquid contact indicators disposed in a spaced array between the manifold and the backing layer. A dressing kit may include the plurality of liquid contact indicators separate from the other elements of the dressing. Therapy systems may include the dressing or a dressing assembled from the dressing kit. Also, methods for monitoring fluid distribution and methods for reducing edema can include the dressing, a dressing assembled from the dressing kit, or at least a portion of the therapy system containing them.
MEDICAL PRODUCT AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THEREOF
The present application relates to a method for preparing a medical product, the method comprising providing an aqueous dispersion of nanofibrillar cellulose, providing a nonwoven fabric, immersing the nonwoven fabric in the aqueous dispersion of nanofibrillar cellulose to form a coating on the nonwoven fabric, passing the immersed nonwoven fabric through a prefined gap to define the thickness of the coating on the immersed nonwoven fabric without pressing, and dewatering the immersed nonwoven fabric, to obtain the medical product. The present application also relates to a medical product comprising a supporting layer and an absorbent layer, wherein the supporting layer comprises a nonwoven fabric, and the absorbent layer comprises unpressed nanofibrillar cellulose having an average fibril diameter of 200 nm or less, wherein the absorbent layer is coating the supporting layer.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR USING NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY TO MANAGE OPEN ABDOMINAL WOUNDS
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to the treatment of wounds using negative pressure. Some embodiments disclosed herein provide for a foam pad, which may be suitable for use in abdominal wound sites, and which may be sized in a dimensionally-independent manner. Additional embodiments provide for a wound contact layer, as well as a system for the treatment of abdominal wounds.
TRANSFER DRESSING FOR EPIDERMAL TRANSFER AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
A transfer dressing that can secure and/or prevent undesired movement of epidermal skin grafts transfer substrates is described. The transfer dressing can include a transfer substrate and one or more adhesive appendages that are configured to secure the transfer substrate to a recipient site (e.g., periwound area) in order to hold the transfer substrate in place and/or facilitate handling of the transfer substrate. The transfer substrate can be comprised of a fenestrated surface configured to facilitate harvesting and transfer of epidermal skin grafts.
Multilayer Garments Worn During Wound Care
A wound recovery garment includes a multilayer fabric. The multilayer fabric comprises a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer. The multilayer fabric draws moisture from the skin tissues, including wounded or burned tissue recovering from trauma. The first layer removes moisture from wounded tissue without sticking to skin. The first layer is formed from compressive, elastic material that supplies compression forces to tissue. The second layer is an absorbent layer that receives the moisture from the first layer and stores tissue moisture in a sponge-like fashion. The second layer is disposed between the first layer and the third layer. The third layer is an exterior layer and is visible to outside viewers. No body fluid or blood leaks through the third layer. Individuals recovering from trauma are able to comfortably go outside without being concerned with body fluids soaking through and being visible to others.
Tilapia Dried Tissue – Revi-Aid
The invention is employing the application of tilapia skin that has been processed and preserved in a dried tissue stage. To reach dried tissue stage, the fish skin is required to undergo treatment of Gludehyde and Glycerin solutions that is performed inside the clean room. The skin in new dried stage is then integrated with an adhesive strip and sterile gauze inside the clean room to create a new type of Ready-To-Use bandage that can be utilized as medical dressing for skin injuries, namely Revi-Aid.
MEDICAL DRESSINGS AND USES THEROF
This invention provides compositions and methods of treating subjects with wounds. Compositions include dressings comprising a sheet and an adhesive, wherein the adhesive is adhered to the sheet, and wherein the sheet has channels. In some embodiments, the channels comprise two different classes of channels (e.g. liquid channels and air channels). These dressing can be applied to various kinds of skin injuries and remain affixed, protecting the injury from contaminants and at the same time, allowing exchange of exudates on the proximal (injury) side to the distal side and exchange of topical agents applied from the distal side of the dressing to the wound while also allowing exchange of gasses from the injury to the air and air to the wound.
Manifolding Apparatus Or Dressing Exhibiting Low Tissue Ingrowth And Negative-Pressure Treatment Method
An apparatus for filling a wound can include an array of at least four truncated ellipsoids interconnected to define at least one fluid path through, for example perpendicular to, the array. The longest principal axis of each ellipsoid may be perpendicular to the array. Each truncated ellipsoid may be a spheroid and/or may include an approximately elliptical contact surface at each contact surface between two interconnected ellipsoids. Each fluid pathway may have four continuously-curved concave sides and may have a parallelogram-shaped cross-section with continuously-curved concave edges. A dressing may include the apparatus, a dressing layer coupled to the apparatus, a backing layer disposed over a surface of the dressing layer opposite the apparatus, and an attachment device disposed on at least a margin of the backing layer. Methods of treating various tissue sites using the apparatus or dressing with negative-pressure therapy are also disclosed.
PIXEL ARRAY MEDICAL SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS
Systems, instruments, methods, and compositions are described involving removing a portion of the epidermis within a donor site on a subject, and harvesting dermal plugs within the donor site. An injectable filler is formed by mincing the dermal plugs. The injectable filler is configured for injecting into a recipient site on the subject.
MEDICAL GAUZE AND GAS FLOW ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF APPLYING A MEDICAL GAUZE WITH GAS FLOW ON A WOUND
A medical gauze and gas flow assembly and method of applying a medical gauze with gas flow over a wound, provides a medical dressing cover that couples to a gas flow framing structure. The gas flow framing structure provides a flow of gas over a wound. A medical grade gauze material adheres to the lower surface of the medical dressing cover, so as to create spacing between the medical grade gauze material and the wound treatment area. The gas flow is directed between the medical grade gauze material and the wound treatment area. The gas flow vents to ambient though the gas permeable medical dressing cover. When degraded, the assembly is replaced or only the medical dressing cover and medical grade gauze material is replaced. The synergistic combination of a medical grade gauze material that is a gas permeable, with a gas flow structure that discharges gas over the wound enhances healing the wound.
