Moist heat therapy compress

A moist heat therapy compress for therapeutic treatment of a treated body part. The moist heat therapy compress includes a fluid-permeable shell, a flexible backing fastened to the shell to define an enclosure, and hydrophilic zeolite fill granules loosely contained within the enclosure. The moist heat therapy compress is exposed to a source of moisture to cause absorption of water into the hydrophilic zeolite, and the moisture is delivered from the hydrophilic zeolite through the fluid permeable shell to the treated body portion.

Some embodiments relate to a wound dressing, packages containing such dressings and methods of their manufacture. Such wound dressings may comprise: a cohesive bandage having a length and a width, the length being substantially greater than the width; and an absorbent pad affixed to the bandage near to but spaced from a terminal end of the bandage so as to form a tail portion between the pad and the terminal end of the bandage.

Cold-warm plaster

A composition for topical application characterized in that it includes, in a hydrogel base, vanillyl butyl ether and menthol. The composition described herein produces an ordered development of cold and warm sensations, obtaining effects that are particularly useful in the treatment of painful disorders of neurological and/or muscular origin. The composition has further moisturizing and soothing effects that concur to an effect that is also curative, i.e., not simply symptomatic, of rheumatic and muscular pain, trauma and bruises. The composition is compatible with each administration form, being preferably and advantageously formulated as a plaster.

Feminine cooling pad
09572709 · 2017-02-21 ·

A feminine cooling pad configured for cooling a vulva and/or adjacent region. The cooling pad may include a non-adhesive outer liquid permeable layer configured to be oriented toward the pubic area during use. A liquid absorbent layer forming or adjacent to the outer layer absorbs bodily fluids or discharges during use. A cooling layer adjacent to the liquid absorbent layer provides cooling for at least about 15 minutes when the cooling pad is placed adjacent to the pubic area of a woman. An optional adhesive layer adjacent to the cooling layer can adhere the feminine cooling pad to an undergarment or clothing during use and maintain the cooling pad in a desired orientation. A feminine heating pad may include a microwavable material that becomes warm or hot when placed in a microwave oven. A feminine cooling pad can operate as a heating pad when heated instead of cooled.

COLD PACK FOR BANDAGE
20170014264 · 2017-01-19 ·

A bandage, such as an adhesive bandage or non-adhesive bandage, can be modified to include a cold pack. The cold pack may be placed in a pocket formed by a gauze sponge of the bandage and a backing of the bandage. The cold pack may also be adhered to a surface of the bandage. The cold temperature of the cold pack can, in some instances, reduce swelling at the wound site, possibly facilitate faster healing, and possibly provide psychological benefits that promote healing.

Methods for Decontaminating Skin

The present invention provides a method for decontaminating a skin area contaminated with noxious substances by absorbing or capturing the substances, and the method comprises the steps of applying absorbent textile composite material to the contaminated skin area for a predetermined period of time, and removing the absorbent textile composite material from the contaminated skin area.

The present disclosure is directed toward heat exchangers, and more particularly to an elastic bandage with a non-adhering film. The clastic bandage may be submerged in a biocompatible liquid, frozen, unwound, and then compressively wrapped around a complex shape such as a portion of a human body and easily unwrapped after usage.

Phase change material for thermal therapy and delivery of active ingredients
12397088 · 2025-08-26 · ·

A method of manufacturing a therapeutic material incorporating a soft thermoformable elastomer with a phase change material exhibiting high latent heat of fusion. The compound provides elasticity, softness, formability, and heat over an extended duration and to facilitate prolonged skin contact at elevated temperatures. Used in combination with active ingredients the increased temperature and formability provides enhanced transdermal delivery through the skin. Thermoplastic elastomers may be manufactured by mixing together plasticizing oil, a triblock copolymer, a paraffinic substance and one or more additives, e.g., an antioxidant, an antimicrobial agent, and/or other additives to form a mixture which melted then cooled into the thermoplastic elastomer. During cooling, the thermoplastic elastomer may be molded or otherwise formed into any number of articles including, but not limited to, prosthetic liners, prosthetic sleeves, external breast prostheses, breast enhancement bladders, masks, wound dressing sheets, wound dressing pads, socks, gloves, malleolus pads, metatarsal pads, shoe insoles, urinary catheters, vascular catheters, and balloons for medical catheters both vascular as well as urinary. Active ingredients are preferably added to the cooling thermoplastic elastomer when the temperature is below 100 F. to prevent heat degradation and/or breakdown of vital proteins.
